Hi everyone! I'm newer to the exciting world of vaping and getting more excited to start upgrading now that I know how much I enjoy vaping! Currently, I just have a rinky dink Evod, hoping soon to upgrade. I've been doing research, entering amazing contests, and itching/can't wait!

Hey alice, welcome. The eVod is a solid choice to get started into the world of vaping. Try researching the Kanger Subox. Its a great upgrade from the eVod, from the same trusted brand, and it'll open up a ton of new options. New tanks, coil builds, variable voltages, and more will be at your fingertips. And trust me, its not overwhelming at all. Its really great.

I would agree I have had a kanger subox for just under a week and it has really changed the game. Before (albeit on an eroll) I did crave a smoke a lot. No longer, now any sing of a slight craving is instantly gone. Great bit of kit and so far touch wood no issues. But I do agree research is the key, and shinyitus is a serious problem I certainly have.

Hello @Aliceininsanity. Welcome to ECF! Glad to have you aboard.

Are there any upgrades you had inmind?

I like the Kanger subox, I Stick, and the seglei. I also have been looking into building my own. I'm handy and kinda enjoy the idea of making my own. Hey, I used to make my own pipes, why not my own vape device? Lol

Welcome Alice! I like building stuff, too. There are a number of people around here who can lend you technical advice if you need help. Were you thinking of building a mod and a tank/RDA, or just one or the other?
When people ask about upgrading anything, I always ask "What does your current equipment not do that you would like it to do?" That makes it easier to make suggestions. And there's certainly nothing wrong if all you want is just something that looks cooler :)

Just the mod. I just have the little Evod right now. I want a good hit, nice cloud. I was a heavy smoker for years, when I started vaping it satisfied my need to smoke. Now, it doesn't so much.

Mods are fun to work with as long as you keep safety in mind.

I have a Kanger Subtank Nano and an iStick 50W. It's definitely the next level up. Way too much for me, in fact. I still use it, but at 5W. Nice looking piece of gear, very durable and reliable. I dropped one on the concrete floor of my basement, and it just chipped. Still works fine.

I think that the Kanger Subox/Subtank kit is a good value.
