Mods are fun to work with as long as you keep safety in mind.

I have a Kanger Subtank Nano and an iStick 50W. It's definitely the next level up. Way too much for me, in fact. I still use it, but at 5W. Nice looking piece of gear, very durable and reliable. I dropped one on the concrete floor of my basement, and it just chipped. Still works fine.

I think that the Kanger subox/Subtank kit is a good value.
Excellent input, thanks!

Welcome :)

At this point given the uncertainty with what could happen to hardware choices next year, and so you could just swap out batteries versus waiting fir a recharge, i would go with a mod or 2 (or ...) where you can use your own batteries.

Just my thought, i do have an istick 30, very compact device which is really nice... just i know when its done, it is done. I think the sigelei mini has a little edge over it too in terms of quality.

Haven't tried the subox at all.

My blog has a little on the few mods i have.

Enjoy :)

Yeah, I like mods that have removable batteries. I know lots of folks on here like mods with internal batteries....... I suppose it is a matter of preference but to myself there is just something wrong with having to throw away your entire mod when the internal battery ages and can no longer be charged. I would rather throw the batteries away than the entire mod. Of course, this is just one single reason why I like removable battery mods. There are other reasons.

Welcome! If you are just starting to look into upgrading your gear I'm sure you are overwhelmed with questions . If that's the case you've come to the right place cuz the people here are pretty friendly and knowledgeable. If your looking for recommendations I highly recommend a vv/vw (variable voltage/variable wattage) box mod with temperature control and a sub ohm tank with .5/.6 couls. If you are tight on money I reccomend the ELeaf iStick 50w, it doesn't have temp control but puts out a solid 50w and has a 4400mah internal battery. If you know where to look you can get one for $40 and then you'll only need to buy a solid sub ohm tank. One of my favorites is the Herakles by sense, 75-100w optimal power, real nice at 55w for a cooler vape; it comes with a .6 coil installed and a spare .2 coil. Replacement coil packs can be found for around $13 for a pack of $5 and the tank itself can be found for $20 now days. If you want more power and performance if recommend the IPV4S, it's temperature controlled can accept nickel and titanium wire coils for when you later get into RDA's can have its power measured in joules or watts, goes up to 125w and is ergonomic as well as easy to use. You'll have to buy 2 18650 batteries and a charger for them (both of good quality) separately to use it. The Herakles tank is a great fit for it or if you want more power try the Maganus by Freemaxx, they say 150w of power but its limits are really more like 120w, hold 5ml of juice instead of Herakles 3ml do it's bigger and is also pricier. Hope this helps and again welcome!
