Hi all,

I've been vaping since August. I'm hooked.

I found Atomic Fireball flavor and I haven't been satisfied with anything else since. It hits the spot.

But I'm tired of paying that high price because I vape A LOT! So I want to start doing it myself. I really don't see myself doing the whole bit so I was looking at some premixed Flavor It Yourself liquid. I found this at One Stop DIY Shop, Unflavored E-Liquid and Accessories and it looks just like what I need however it comes in 100% PG or a 50/50%. I know 50/50 isn't going to cut it for me.

Has anyone found a premix of 80/20? If so, where?

I suppose I could buy their VG and dilute it down, but I was really hoping to just be able to add my flavor and go. I ordered Lorann's super strength cinnamon oil and Perfumer's Apprentice Red Hot cinnamon flavors for the flavor.

One last question .... approximately how much flavoring should I put in a 30 ml bottle?

Thanks!

You can search and find about any ratio in unflavored from most juice vendors, however - its about the same as buying a bottle of eliquid. As much as I wanted to avoid handling high strength nicotine, it totally removes the cost effective part of DIY. If you are worried about just flavoring it and not saving the money - then go this route. Otherwise, to spend pennies per ml you need high strength nic base in pg or vg only, pg, vg, flavors. Also bottles, gloves, syringes, measuring devices (like graduated cylinders) etc.

Be careful with LA super strength - that stuff is no joke potent. I usually stay around 1-5% on the only 2 LA flavors that I like enough to use. I mostly use TFA (The Flavor Apprentice - Same thing as perfumers that you ordered) On the TFA/TPA flavors I start at 5% and add more if needed. Most of their flavors perform well in a 5-15% range.

You will find a lot of valuable info in the DIY forum and on the TFA/TPA thread - there is a whole list of flavors there and recommended ratios from DIYers that use them. DIY E-Liquid

Key to remember - start at a low percentage and go up - its easy to add more flavor and a PITA to fix when you over-flavor.

Here you go -- just grab the flavor percentages from the 3 flavors..
write them down so you don't forget..
e-Liquid Calculator :: Maul's Atomic Fireball

Now go here and download the ejuicemeup calculator..
eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

Now use the flavor percentages from above and whatever you choose to use as your base.

The nicotine from onestop is really expensive, but it is a small bottle to let you know if you will like DIY or not..

I'd suggest getting it in 100% PG and a bottle of VG then you can make whatever nicotine level and ratio you want..

Then, if you like the DIY, look at:
myfreedomsmokes.com
rtsvapes
wizardlabs and a boat load of other places for better prices..

and as a final note, DO NOT miss the blogs of dannyv45 and hoosier..

That right there is EXACTLY what I was looking for! And I didn't have the option at the site I chose to get 100% VG ... so I ordered 100% PG and a 50/50 VG and figured I'd work it from there.

Thanks so much

Hey Darla

(sorry about referring you to the Atomic Cinnacide in an earlier post. Didn't know)

1st thing - download a DIY calculator - it really helps out. I use this one for excel - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...e-calculator-added-quantity-calculations.html

2nd - eye droppers and pipettes s*ck big time - get syringes for measuring - vg will barely (and I mean BARELY) go through a 14 guage needle though - I got a 60ml catheter style syringe for using with vg

C. I get my plain PG and VG from Amazon (I am really getting my moneys worth of prime free shipping)
Propylene Glycol 1 Quart: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
Amazon.com: Glycerin Vegetable Kosher USP - 1 Quart: Health & Personal Care

4. read all the stickies in the DIY subforum several times

oh and get a small 10 mil of TFA's menthol flavoring and a 30ml of sweetener - 1 or 2% of menthol will really fix a lot (very little goes a long way), and the sweetener will smooth out a lot of rough edges

hope this helps

ummm.. your sorta on the right track, but you need to be able to dilute the nicotine down..
if you ordered from onestopdiyshop, you got either 36 or 48 nicotine..

your going to need dilution liquids..
Dilution Base Liquid - One Stop DIY Shop Store
you'll need one of each PG and VG..

from ejuicemeup calculator

100% PG nicotine @ 48mg
Target = 12mg @ 80/20
10 ml batch size

Nicotine 2.5 ml (25%)
PG 3.6 ml (36%)
VG 2.0 ml (20%)
SweCr 0.2 ml (2%)
Marsh 0.5 ml (5%)
CRH 1.2 ml (12%)

sorry I can't be more exact, but I don't know what your base strength is or what your target strength is..
only thing that you gave in the original post was 80/20..

Hi Darla! Welcome to ECF :)

One Stop DIY Shop? It's like this....

When I saw those prices. $10 dollar-ish is insane for 1oz (30ml). You should be only paying like this much:

Our Unflavored Smoke Juice (Nic. Juice, Nicotine Juice) - My Freedom Smokes

Plus they ship in glass bottles.

or this:

High Desert Vapes -Wizard Labs 60mg Nic Base

or even this:

Unflavored nicotine liquid

As much as I like WizardLabs.us, they are so awesome that they are often out of stock. But it's worth watching them as they truly are the very best :D

(I would advise staying away from ecigexpress. They have repeatedly shipped bottles that leak in mailers. (I have pictures).)

The ejuicemeup calculator from Breaktru (mentioned in the above posts) is an absolute essential and truly wonderous tool. Look in the "tools" section of the calculator and you will see the "nic combine" option. This makes combining easy.

I also advise buying the higher mg nicotine. If you get 100mg nicotine you can mix virtually any strength and combination with the calc. Just remember to use safety cautions when mixing: surgical gloves, protective eyewear , a well ventilated room and a facemask (the disposable kind is okay) will keep you safe. Just wipe up any spills and be careful with it.

I always mix my nicotine first then put it away and continue with the other ingredients. You would benefit from acquiring some plastic centrifuge tubes (15 and 50ml are common) from Fleabay. They are cheaper than graduated cylinders and have a screw top which allows you to go from copiling/mixing the ingredients directly to shaking/steeping the finished product.

It's a great thing, DIY, and you can make really good juice with little effort and dirt cheap expense.

Again, welcome!

Awesome!

I'm looking to get it to 24mg nicotine level with high flavor. I'd like the 80/20 pg/vg.

Hot Cinnamon Candy "NEW" - e liquid tea flavored e juice water flavoring coffee flavors e cigarette Diet & Fitness Baking & Desserts

This is a link to Capella's "Hot Cinnamon Candy" in case you don't like PA's or Lorann's. I've found some flavors where Lorann/Perfumers excels and others not so much. Capella's might do the trick...

I've tried a lot of flavoring strengths and combinations and usually 20% works for me. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I can already tell I'm going to be busy doing some experimentation until I get just the "right" one. LOL

Yikes! You've made me very nervous since there is a decent size 100mg nic in the mail to me right now from ecigexpress! Sounds like I want to be wearing gloves when I open it!

Welcome, Darla! (Sorry to hijack the thread here.)

I get almost all my DIY supplies from Wizards Labs I've gone to getting my nic base in PG, just because it is thinner and easier to draw and measure than VG is. I mix my juice at 80-70% VG and my nic at 12mg, so between the pg in the nic base and flavoring, I don't have to add much additional PG to the mix. Also feel the PG base nic mixes better into the batch then the VG base nic does.

Thank you. Yep ... lots to experiment with!

Yep, Wizard Labs rocks--when they have what you need in stock! But I agree, I always look there first. In fact, TFA flavors are actually cheaper at Wizard Labs--at least in the size they sell. It gets cheaper at TFA direct when you get bigger sizes. I also get my nic in all PG for the very same reason--so much easier to work with, and I don't want to mess around with 100mg nicotine.
