Hi,

I have been reading and lurking here for a few days now. I decided to quit smoking analogs last Thursday. (I managed to smoke 2 packs since however, but that's 4 packs less than I would have smoked before.)

I bought a Bloog starter pack, and a few extra cartomizers in menthol, plus a couple flavored e juices bottles, and a pack of blank cartomizers. Monday I ordered some more juices from Mt. Baker.

I love this thing, it looks super cool, and I am loving the flavors. I hate the menthol one lol, but found that by adding some strawberry drops, it tastes much better

Now, I found this amazing forum, and I think I am already ready to go bigger. Mostly because I keep reading about how much better the flavor is, and I would love more flavor.

But, I am more than completely lost as to which one to buy. I keep trying to piece it all together, but I am scared I will buy the wrong stuff, or won't know how to work it all. The Bloog was self explanatory.

I can't spend a whole lot, since I blown so much already lol. I don't go through a lot - at all. I have only charges my bloog twice, and neither time did it indicated it needed charged. I haven't emptied a cartomizer yet, and I use the same one pretty much all day, maybe I'll hit my other one a few times.

I am looking for something not too complex, I love bling and girly looking ones (my bloog is in aurora (anodized, love it), but I want strong flavors and a decent amount of vapor. (The bloog almost is enough for me, but it hasn't been enough to completely curb my analog habit.)

I know I am asking a lot, and there is soooo much info here already, but I am just overwhelmed with options and don't know which way to go.

TIA!!

Hello CaymanMoon and welcome!

Yes, there is a lot to take in but that's part of the fun right? I totally understand your situation, I think most of us have been exactly where you are now.

Do you have a budget in mind for this next upgrade? That's probably going to be key to narrowing down what is the best fit for you at this stage. As you've probably noticed, you can spend a lot of money in vaping gear real quick however that doesn't mean you can't also get an excellent setup without spending a fortune. There are a lot of different ways to go here.

Start slow. Do your research. Go with what YOU feel is best for YOU. What works for me might not work for you. I once did a canon ball into our pool before I tested the water, I probably should have stuck a toe or two into the 45 degree water first. Know what I mean?

Lots of people here will give you advice but it is ultimately up to you to decide what to go with. I will suggest looking into an eGo style battery. Google or YouTube it for more info. They come in all colors and battery sizes.(battery size determines how long you can vape on it) I would also suggest a couple of clearomizer tanks like the Kanger T3 or eVods. That is what I should have started out with but I learned and grew. Hopefully you will do the same.

Once you have kinda figured out what you might want to purchase, come on back here and I am sure there are plenty of helpful people here to correctly give you some advice on your choices.

Here is a review of something I personally believe would have worked better for me.(The 2nd one The Triton Kit...not the colors though lol)

Don't be overwhelmed. There is no shortage of options out there, just take your time and read read read until things become a little clearer. Since you just made a big investment in your bloog, in my opinion, rock it out for a while. Enjoy it while you learn more. If you made another quick decision you may learn in a couple weeks there is something else you wished you would have bought instead.

That said.. definitely look into the eGo type stuff. eGo Twists and Vision Spinners are two devices that are very user friendly batteries and very affordable AND they are variable voltage :) Look into clearomizers (my personal favorite is the Vision Clearomizer 2.0) and things like Vivi Novas. They are very user friendly tanks.

Welcome to ECF. Pull up a chair, make yourself at home, and take a deep breath. You are not the only one who is overwhelmed by the choices in the budding world of vape. You are among some truly knowledgeable folks who will be happy to offer guidance and opinions, just don't feel like you have to understand everything yesterday ;)

There are so many to choose from but it always comes down to the same areas you need to consider for your particular usage.
Battery life, juice capacity, ease of use and cost of atomisers.

I'd suggest looking at something like the Panda Evolve as it has a good battery and juice capacity, it also comes in pink if you need that girly look. Bling and jewels might be high on your list but I'd consider function and ease of use above all as the pretty bits won't compensate for the frustration of a short battery life or endless refills.
The page linked below has a Youtube review by PBasardo who I believe to be the best reviewers out there...
Panda Evolve Starter Kit

If the looks or size are putting you off the Panda Evolve then it might be worth taking a look at the Joytech eRoll which has a nice personal charging case as part of the kit and a fairly cheap replaceable atomiser.

Welcome CaymanMoon,

I am a newbie also, started vaping about a month ago, I am a tinkerer and have gone overboard on equipment and DIY juice but with tis being said this is the starter kit I am recommending to my friends as it will give you the best versatility without busting the bank

EGO-C Twist 1000MAh and clearomizer Kit - $78.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

the twists will allow you to adjust the voltage for the best taste and the clearos are very easy to deal with (I prefer the Vision brand vivi nova's myself though)

hope this helps

I've written a blog specifically for beginners such as yourself. You can access it by clicking the link under my avatar.

However, for specific titles that you would be interested in, "A Good Starters Setup for a Beginning Vapor" has my recommendation for a variable voltage EGO battery setup, recommended delivery devices, and a video tutorial at the end. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3706-4-good-starters-setup-beginning-vapor.html

Another recommended title is, "Proper Terminology: A Primer on Juice Delivery Devices" has pictures, descriptions, and videos for each item: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html
___

Be aware that not all gear is compatible with one another. Your Bloog devices use an 808 thread attachments, which will not fit with the more common 510 thread attachments like the Egos.

Just ask the helpful folks here for advice should you need it. Don't make a purchase without first asking the experienced people here.

Thanks everyone. I have been checking out the eGo line. I definitely gotta keep it under $100.

Tanks are a part of what is confusing me. This bloog, I screw it on and done. I dislike the method of filling the cartos up immensely. And I want a much stronger flavor.

With a tank, as opposed to a cartomizer, do I need to purchase any additional equipment, or just batt and tank and charger and done?

Anyone able to recommend a good supplier that has a great all in one kit I can buy? Then I can just buy additonal tanks right? So each juice could have its own?

Sorry, I'm just so confused, and the more I read, the more confused I get.

I think I would keep using the bloog while at work, or running errands, etc., and get maybe an eGo for home .

welcome to Ecf!! since you are like me me (newb to all this) then I can shed some light on how I picked my next mod.

I thought to myself do I want something? something where I can tinker with it, do I want to drip or tank and what is the easiest one or the hardest one. a lot of mechanical mods allow you to tinker and change the resistance. there's a big learning curve to mechanical mods but it just depends on your personality.

my girlfriend bought me a provari and as much as I love it. I think it's too simple for my taste. I like to mess around with whatever I have so I have the itch to try mechanical mods. but then again the provari is just so simple haha.

once u figure out how hard or simple you want to make your setup then you'll be able to narrow down what u want

DO NOT decide to QUIT smoking!

Decide to START Vaping.

I know that might not make sense... but it shifts the failure point... and thus the guilt...

If you decide to Quit smoking... and you slip up and smoke.
You have failed, eventually guilt can sink in and you just keep smoking, abandoning vaping.

If you decide to start Vaping... well, the rest will take care of itself... just keep vaping and eventually cigarettes will taste nasty and you won't want one.

In the mean time, remember it's about the cigarettes you don't smoke... not the ones you do.

There are a lot of "accidental" quitters on here... who never planned to quit smoking but did.

YES, it's a bit of a mind game, symantics... but it does work.

Hello. What Statistic recommended is what I have. 650 mAh battery with Kanger T3Clearomizer. Had for 2 days and works fine.
Bought it because several member said it is a good starter kit. It sounds like you need to also get higher strength nic content also to keep satisfied. I use the high strength for a little while to take care of those times when needed.

I second this recommendation. I started a few weeks ago and moved into this setup. works great, easy to use and not a single problem yet.

I like to recommend it because it's a complete kit but it's configurable. You can choose anywhere from 650mah twist to 1300mah spinners. The tanks available are solid tanks and easy for someone new to this whole thing to use and maintain. Also myvaporstore sells genuine Joyetech and Vision brand stuffs, no cheap knockoffs.

I am in no way associated with mvs.com but they have been a great retailer in my experience. They sell quality products, orders are always 100% accurate and they ship out so fast sometimes it's like they're just sitting there waiting for an order to come in, lol.

Ok, sorry for the long delay in responding.

I have still been researching and reading these forums non-stop. From all the incredibly useful info here, I think I have narrowed it down to this set-up:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

Now, I am going to get a ego c twist 650 mah, and a vision spinner 1300 mah. I will also choose a Kanger Evod and a vision ego clearamizer.

I'll also buy some more clearomizers and wicks. And although I have a ton of juices, I am going to buy more :)

SO, think this is a good deal, and a nice set-up? I dont need anything fancy, just simple. And, from what I have read, MVS seems to be a very reputable vendor. I am extra worried about my CC being compromised, as I just went through that recently. it was siriius radio that did it to me though. First time, and it super sucked lol.

Thanks again for all the help, without this forum, I would never have even known there was options soooo much better than my Bloog!!

I deal with MVS all the time. You will not go wrong using them. I was using the Evods before the Protank came out and if you have the cash to spare I would really recommend going with the tank. I have a handful now rofl. Although still saving money I find myself spending half of what I save on new toys and more juice to stockpile ;) The twist and spinner are great batteries that I used for the longest time myself.

Looks good. Those are great devices to get into. Be sure to stick around though, and keep updated. There's bound to be something else that'll interest you in the future if you decide you'd rather invest in vaping than smoking cigarettes. One of the best parts of vaping is the community. That's something you'd never get as a smoker... unless you count the times when you join up in a smoker's circle to and take part in idle chit chat. Lol.

put down the keyboard, and step away from the credit card:evil:. once you make this next purchase, get your 3 months of detox out of the way. we tend to go crazy in the first month. the less talk about my credit card bill:facepalm:, the better. others will tell you what to get, just keep in mind, especially in the first month, our brains are rewiring themselves. not the best time to make informed decisions about purchases. slow and easy gets it done. best of luck
