Flange is more for slip down prevention. It's just a precautionary measure, not completely necessary. The only way the flange helps with "leaking" would be if the tank slipped down too much, but it doesn't help seal it any better.

If you're using it on an ego, you can buy this....

eGo Chrome Cone for the 5 mL Dual Coil Tank Cartromizer

It would give the tank something to rest on, preventing it from slipping down, similar to what the flange is doing. It would work on the 3.5ml tanks too, it would just be a bigger around the tank base.

Heck, even this would work for all size tanks....

As far as the flange goes, you don't need it. Just put it in the tank upside-down. Be VERY careful if you're thinking of punching it, because it you make the carto bluge too much when punching it, you WILL have problems with leakage. I personally just cut 1 slot in mine and they do fine. When putting the carto in, try to use a drip-tip that fits flush with the mouth of the carto and fits all the way through the tank, to make it easier on your inner seals.

Hope that helps.

But I do not recommend it unless it is a pleasure for you to punch it. :)

The only concern with the boges in a DCT would be that the smoktech tanks are a "little" bit looser than your average tank. The smoktech cartos slide around just a hair easier than your standard tank setup IMO. That's not to say the boges won't work. They will certainly fit, they MAY just be a hair slippier than usual. The flange on the smoktechs gives the tank something to rest on in case it wants to slide down. Of course the boges diameter could be a micrometer thicker and all this might not even be an issue. I guess we'll find out when someone gets some and puts it in.

Yes, I was wondering this myself, since I have a DCT. I haven't ordered these yet, but I will on my next order.

I also have a Mom & Pop Sub tank if the DCT doesn't work.
