So I just got my E8 (e-cig.com . . .super-mini?) in the mail from China. Started out with the 24mg extra high cartridges.

Analogs... camel wides (1/2 pack day)

First thing I noticed is not being able to be satisfied ...at all. The amount of vapor and taste is a tease at best and there's no 'kick'. I sucked down a whole catridge . . .felt the throat hit, but no nicotine kick.

I'm a large guy (230 lbs) and I really want to kick analogs. But i'm just not getting the satisfaction from it.

Can anyone recommend a PV brand that doesn't have an automatic shut off, that'll actually satisfy a big guy used to Camel Wides?

Already $100 down the drain.

Hi Demir, first of all, I would tell you that you must stop comparing your e-cig with your Camels. If you love Camels, then keep smoking them.
Your e-cig NEVER is going to act or give you what an analog does.
So, you could tell me: "Then why should I bother...?"
The answer is simple: If you REALLY want to left behind all the bad things that analogs did to you (Bad smell, awfully smelly mouth, short of breathing, etc, etc, etc), then the e-ciggy is for you.
All good things comes with a little sacrifice.
With this in mind, and knowing that e-cigs doesn't give exactly the satisfaction analogs does, but a lot of good things comes with e-ciggies if you are willing to sacrifice that, then you are good to go.
Otherwise, just forget about e-cigs.

EDITED: I just read that you started with 24 mg juice, and that you smoked half pack of Camels a day. I want to make a point here: That all is on your mind.
24 mg juice is not light at all. Generally, 24 mg juice is for heavy smokers, those who smoked 3 packs a day!
Nicotine is nicotine, no matter if you are a large guy or not. The thing is that half pack of Camels did the trick to you.
I forgot to say that good e-vaping is only for those with patience.
Actually there's no e-cig that just works. They all have good things and bad things and only with patience you will succeed.

There are a couple things you should do before looking for a new PV or giving up. First, buy some good juice and load your own or better yet drip/dip on the atomizer. Carts suck and preloaded carts suck a lot. Second, the atomizers need a day or two to 'break in' they all seem kind of nasty and weak at first. Third, there is a pretty serious learning curve on these things. If you smoke them like a camel you will not get much vapor and blow throw carts fast. There are some great videos with pointers, but the key is take a short primer hit and then draw in slow and steady. Do mouth hits not lung hits like a smoke. Fourth, ease into it. I just realized that after 2 weeks of vaping I finally went two whole days without a proper smoke and I don't miss them (much and I was a 25 year smoker with the last 20 or so being 2 packs of hard Camels a day (I use 24mg btw and sometimes I overdo it). After you see that this might work start looking for different gear if you want. YOu will know better what you want and when you get it you will not be as disappointed if you already learned what to do also get a usb pass through. The batteries won't cover your day if you are trying to quit. Finally, none of the juice will taste like tobacco or be exactly like smoking. The best way I can explain it is like fake bacon. I quit eating meat 10+ years ago and when I did I started eating fake bacon. I knew it was nothing like bacon back then but as time went on it didn't matter. It became bacon to me. Currently, my vaping fake bacon that works best right now is True Vapors Turkish, but that is highly subjective so you will have to try to find your own.
Good Luck. Its not as easy as some people make it out to be and watch the videos in the Newbie section, the tricks section, and the review sections. They help a lot.

I agree with gatsby's advice. There is a learning curve with PV's (personal vaporizers). But if you continue to not be satisfied, then you should try a manual switch PV. As you mentioned, you can heat up the atomizer as much as you want and get warmer vapor which is closer to analogs for many. One of the traditional looking manual switch PV with the smaller battery is the Janty Dura-C. Two manual switch PV's with the 7-8 hour , 1000mAh batteries are the Scewdriver (SD) and the Zi Moshi. I have the SD and IMO it just can't be beat for consistent throat hit and long battery life. Here are some links:

Additionally, another poll I saw indicated that the most used nicotine strength was 24mg and 36mg.

I had the same problem as you, something was missing. I know some people stop as soon as they get their ecig. I haven't but I am down from a pack and a half a day to 2 or 3 cigs a day. You should probably first start with some 36mg juice. The pre filled carts are bad. If that doesn't work, try a 510 same as the janty dura c. It has a manual switch that lets you inhale as long as you can. It is the best mass produced e cig that I have found that is closest to an analog. I have tried 3 others. There is a supplier in your state that sells it and good juice. Electronicstix you can find him in the forum. Great guy to deal with and expert service.

Electronicstix, I think is at least near your state. :)

SD and 901 share same atomizer, so if you do get SD, stock up the 901 atomizers if you find you like it. Also, if you don't mind the look, (which I honestly think it does look like a pipe bomb) - zi moshi's lightvaper mode should be just as good as an SD.

SD and zi moshi mod is all small-scale production, so you might have to wait a bit to get one though. I wish you the best of luck. :)

I agree.

Demir, I got an RN4081 (super-mini) last weekend and was extremely disappointed also. I thought, why bother? I then read on here about the 510 (JOYE510, DuraC, etc) with the manual batteries and ordered one. It was so much better, but being a menthol smoker, I was still lacking. I ordered menthol crystals, melted a few in filtered water, let that sit until the waxy substance separated, then added one drop of the water to my tobacco flavored (high nicotine) cartridges. I'm in heaven. This makes my menthol cigarettes taste weak.

I'm still new also, so there are many here that are better informed than myself, but I am very pleased with the manual battery on the 510. Heck, the menthol even makes the super-mini a little better.

All the advice given is dead on
I would like to add, I was a 3 to 4 pack a day smoker YES REALLY, also I know have COPD, so good for me, something to be proud of!

Vaping is NOT SMOKING............

If you WANT to stop, than Vaping is the GREATEST alternative EVER
FXXX the patches, pills, therapy, whatever,
it works, look at this forum, I think there are 8000 plus people involved and everyone believes there is something to this Vaping thing

It is NOT smoking analogs, if smoking analogs didn't kill you and they will, we would all be smoking still, Well, I would

I do not see Vaping as a sacrifce but as a life saver
Once you get fully behind it and believe in what it offers, it is the best tasting, most enjoyable, GREATEST PEOPLE INVOLVED THING ON EARTH

So, I am sorry for your disappointment, I was 230 lbs when I stoped analogs, I only vape 36mg, ONLY , I now weigh 200lbs and I look good, by the way and I am waiting on my 48mg in the mail for the am

Bottom line, get it in your head, that there is not other option for you,
either VAPE OR DIE
