Just tested a new AW 18650 2900mAh li-ion battery. Fit perfectly in every GGTS we put it in and attached is a graph from our battery load tester. Pretty nice! We'll have them in stock in 4-5 days.

Thanks
Rob

It says under the specs this battery puts out 3.6v and I am thinking it gives up some power to get it's longevity the way battery chemistry works. Whats your say here Rob, I would love to see a power graph test with three AW batteries this new one, the black IC 2600mAh and the orange IMR 1500mAh. I have done some comparisons and it seems to me the orange IMR hits the hardest out of them so far but I haven't tried this new one as of yet, seeing the IMR is going to hold its power the longest I am standing by this one until I see differently. I would love to put this batt under load along side of the IMR and see what one holds its max charge longer, could you do this and let me know when you get this new one.??

Hey Matt,

I have one here I ordered as a sample to test. I've also been using it with a LR 510 cartomizer and it works very well.

I've been testing a lot of batteries with the CBA III load tester. I tested this under a continual 1.5a load. I also have the option to cycle test and that will be next.

This is what it says about the 2900mAh:

AW 18650 2900mAh:
Description: 1 Li-ion cell, 2.9 Ah @ 1.50A
Started At: 10/5/2010 4:00 PM
Discharge Rate: 1.50 A
Starting Voltage: 4.13 V
Ending Voltage: 2.80 V
Total Time (hh:mm:ss): 01:46:26
Tested Capacity: 2.660 Ah

I haven't tested the IMR18650 yet but here's the data from a IMR18490:

AW IMR18490:
Description: 1 Other/Custom cell, 1.1 Ah @ 1.10A
Started At: 10/1/2010 4:19 PM
Discharge Rate: 1.10 A
Starting Voltage: 4.11 V
Ending Voltage: 2.80 V
Total Time (hh:mm:ss): 00:52:39
Tested Capacity: 0.965 Ah

I need to standardize my load on the batteries. Do you have specific current draw numbers for standard and LR atomizers? I haven't had time to hunt the data down yet.

I've got a AW IMR18650 and a AW Li-Ion 18650 2600mAh in the Pila charger right now. Once they are juiced up I'll throw them on.

Rob,

These are the specs I see on this Batt it say 3.7 on the Batt itself but under specs it says 3.6 "nominal voltage" whats this mean exactly, as all the other 18650's have 3.7 listed

SPECIFICATIONS:

* Nominal Voltage : 3.6V
* Capacity : 2900mAH ( rated at 0.2C discharge 4.2V - 2.5V @ 25℃ )
* Operating Temp. : Charge 0 to 45℃ / Discharge -20 to 60 ℃
* Recommended Charge Rate : 825mA ( ambient temp. 25 ℃ )
* Max. Discharge Rate : 5.8A ( ambient temp. 25 ℃ )
* Dimensions :18.52 X 68.16mm ( +/- 0.3mm )

This I want to see very much, as the orange IMR has always been and still is my go to batt over these black IC AW's so please post this info as soon as you can please.

Thanks Rob

I've got a Joye 510 LR atomizer connected to my lab power supply at the moment. It shows me the current draw on whatever voltage I dial it into. Currently at 3.7v it's pulling 1.74 amps. That's with no voltage or current drop at all since this is a pretty beefy power supply (Mastech HY3003D).

I'll retest them at 2 amps and see what happens. Give me a day or so.
