my black one is getting a bit dinged up, but a drop from my pocket to the asphalt while getting into my car the other day left nary a scuff. Its pretty tough, but it does show some signs of wear. I plan once it gets bad enough to polish the whole thing, except for the crop circles, and leave them black. Should look pretty cool if I could pull it off.

Not ZenKote? Thank you Baby Jesus!

That was my thought :) It moved from 'NeedItNOW' to 'That would be nice to have'. Of course I don't have it in the vape budget this month - had to buy a new phone. The next time I try to clean my screen I'm going to use the gentle cycle. The normal cycle didn't work out so well.

oh well that just threw it out of the mix. My cerakote had wear marks on it within months. lol

This is not a knock, but i never could figure out why such a great mod and for the price, would not have a better paint job. I was suprised at how badly the cerakote wore ... and dings too.

Can't they find a coater/technology so that the paint job would hold up as good as the mod? It's a great mod and lasts forever, but w/out putting a wrap on it when new, I have found the Provari paint jobs just don't match the quality of the mod itself at all. And that is a shame.

They're applying a finish over stainless steel.. pretty much no matter what that finish is, inevitably it's going to experience some wear...

Cerakote is used on firearms & certain custom automotive/motorcyle parts, so it's not too shabby a finish.. and there are much worse finishes out there

ZenKote is probably one of the best, if not the best, finishes out there these days... It's also a more-recent & expensive product process, so it will probably be a while for it to be fine-tuned, to come down in price, and be available in more colors... I'm happy to see ProVape teaming up with Zen

My satin black cerakote is showing a tiny bit of faint wear after a few months (mainly the bottom edges of the extension cap, and a barely-noticeable dot on the body where I believe it came into accidental contact with something metal while travelling)..

I don't really care.. Wasn't expecting it to stay perfect forever, and I know the wear will only increase over time

And for the record, I also have a non-finished polished stainless non-ProVari -- which has a few small scratches on it... Nothing is going to stay pristine unless you carefully pack it up & never touch it..

Anyway, just the nature of the game, and seems like ProVape has been doing the right things with what's available...
