So I just bought A dna20 mod, have been using an eVic. I'm vaping on either my Taifun GT or kayfun, using 2 ohm 30 gauge wire coil and cotton wick.

Seems like whenever I try to go above 12 watts, I can smell and taste the cotton wick burning.

What are you dna20 guys using for wick when vaping at higher wattage?

Sounds like your issue is not the wick itself but the wicking ability of your current coil/wick setups. Im running .8ohm w/ cotton in a dripper so running around 22w with a full 4.2v, no burning at all, and many people run much more aggressive setups with cotton without issue.

Assuming you've only had the Evic which cuts off at (i believe) like 11-12 watts, you may need to rebuild your set-ups to work properly with higher power levels.

Your correct, the eVic cuts out at 11 watts 2.5 amps.

I've been using 30 gauge kanthal wrapped around 1.5mm or 2mm bit or driver, using 6-8 wraps and averaging 1.6 to 2.0 ohms.

So are you saying I need more cotton, less cotton? Thicker or thinner coils?

Sorry, not sure how to change my builds for higher power :(

The coils (wires) themselves are likely not the issue, i would just try rewicking/tinkering with less and less cotton/also the wick placement (specifically in the kayfun, dont know much about taifuns) until you either get the performance (ie wicking properly) you're looking for or you've gone too far and get leaking/flooding.
