New e-smoker

Hi folks,

Well today I got a mini cig for Christmas from the puresmoker.com. Am I in the right forum?

I have to admit I am completely fascinated by the idea of smoking water! As an avid three pack per day smoker I am looking forward to trying this out.

I don't think I am going to be able to completely quit, but I figure if I can sit inside my house or office and smoke this thing, I won'tsmoke as much of the real thing.

I do have a couple of questions though...

It comes with cartridges. It also mentions I can fill them with liquid? Where do I put it?

I guess I am confused. There are three parts... The battery part with the LED I get.

Then you have the middle part called the atomizer? Does that "run out" or need to be replaced? Then you have the mouth piece.

It had an empty mouth piece then 5 packs of mouth pieces with gel in them. Is that where the nicotine is?

So there would be no point in smoking the empty mouthpiece right?

It is charging right now I will try it out tonight.

The liquid is to refill the cartridges. A cartridge contains a little "sponge". Those come saturated with liquid, and once they're dry, you can saturate them with liquid again yourself. The "empty mouthpiece" you mentioned is actually an cartridge with no "sponge" in it. Most e-cigs come with one of those attached for some reason. It may come in handy later on, but for now simply remove it and attach one of the other "full" cartridges. Yes, the cartridges (what you call mouth pieces) are where the nicotine is stored.

The atomizer is the heating element that vaporizes the liquid, and it does wear out. How long that takes depends on how heavy your use is. A heavy smoker might wear one out in a few weeks and need to replace it.

PS. You're not exactly smoking water. You're smoking a bunch of vaporized chemicals. Still probably healthier than actual smoke though, since there's no tar. Check the wikipedia article for "ecig" to see a list of ingredients.

Just saw the videos and with your response that cleared up a lot of confusion! Thanks! I can't believe I am going to smoke water tonight! Well it isn't really water but you get the idea.

I will order and extra atomizer tomorrow just to be safe.

The video mentioned dripping right on the atomizer. You mentioned just moisturizing the sponge. I would rather do that than redrip every time I want to smoke; how many drops on the sponge do you use? Or do you just saturate it?

Is it cheaper to buy just the carts or the juice?

I'm honestly waiting for my first e-cig to come in the mail, and answered your questions based on what I've been reading here. So I'm not sure how many drops it takes to re-moisten the sponge -- I'm actually curious about that myself, and about the difference in cost between buying liquid and new cartridges. I would guess that the liquid ends up being cheaper, but perhaps someone else with actual experience could answer that question. Another benefit to using liquid though is that the liquid comes in a wider variety of flavors and strengths. Puresmoker has all kinds of weird flavors that I'm eager to try, like caramel, vanilla, strawberry, etc.

Iamgenius ... welcome to the forum and to e smoking. I am a newbie too, i got my 901 in the mail Wed eve. I normally would smoke 20 - 30 a day depending if i was in the office or not. Since i got the 901 i think i have smoked maybe 6 analogue (regular) cigs. Today i have only had one and that was the first one in the morning with my coffee. The thing is i'm not really trying to NOT smoke analogues i just don't NEED to.

There is a pretty good learnign to curve to using these things but stick with it.

The link below is a thread i've been watching with interest because i was having some of the same issues. I'm not quite 48 hours with my ecig and it is gettting easier and better all the time.

It's cheaper to use juice than cartridges. Refill old carts or drip directly onto your atomiser.
