I got my ecig at ecig.co.uk. I was delivered on Thursday morning and by friday afternoon it had ceased to live. I took the whole think apart, Charged the batterys, drained the atomizer, cleaned the ends of the battery where it meets the atomizer. And then put in a brand new cart to try again. I got one draw and it stopped working again.

Since then it has been going on and off .. Barely one draw then it stops. Each time I clean it out, use a cotton swap to remove any excess liquid, make sure batterys are full but still nothing!

Please help? I emailed the site but have had no reply.

Something to check: using a q-tip mark the depth of the metal wick inside the atomiser. If it is more than 7 or 8 mm then the metal wick will be barely touching the cartridge material and cause the symptoms you describe. This can occur when the inner gubbins of the atomiser are not pushed in far enough at manufacture or moved since (they slide but normally with a tight fit). If this is found to be the case you can grip the metal wick with some slim, long-nose pliers and gripping just enough gently pull the innards up the required amount.

A good position for the innards will leave a small indent on the cartrisge material where the two come into contact. Anyone whose cartridges are not working well can check the atomiser wick depth as one possible cause.

ps: a q-tip is one of those little sticks with cotton wool at each end that you must never put in your ear. Just cut off one of the cotton buds and mark the depth on the stick with a pen (where it emerges from the atomiser. Remember to measure from the top of the arched metal wick inside the atomiser.

Thanks for the replies, I started by cartridge smoking it, then on advice from a friend [as there wasnt much vapour] started drip smoking it on thursday afternoon and was doing this till it stopped working friday afternoon.

It is the Mini ecig.

Will try again just now... and... Got one vape out of it and it stopped again. This was using a cart [full one, brand new] And i moved the metierial out a little to make sure it was in contact with the atomiser.

If you've tried all the suggestions and are still having trouble I think you might have a dodgy battery :(

Smokester/Simon/ecigs.co.uk are very good and will swap it for you if you contact them.

I emailed ecigs.co.uk yesterday, waiting for a reply, Will hunt them down on here too :p

I did get about 30 seconds of good vaping before it died after trying the matieriel closer to the atomiser again.

Ive also found that alot of liquid comes back through the moutpiece even if i put one drop in.. and it dont taste goood!! ideas?

It sounds like you might have flooded it and it's leaked into the battery too. Dripping is a bit tricky to get right and not really a good thing to try for a beginner (sorry if you're not a beginner).

Blow through the atomiser from the battery side onto a tissue. Scrunch up the tissue and stuff it into the atomiser until it touches the mesh of the atomiser, don't twist, you don't want to leave fibres in there. Dry the contacts with the battery. Flick the battery (like a thermometer) towards the threaded end to see if there's liquid in there. Put a blank mouthpiece on and try vaping. If it works put a fresh cartridge in but don't drip.

If you find there's liquid in the battery store it overnight on a tissue LED end up or on a radiator (don't know if that's safe with batteries).

Ive done all of those things, Minus leaving the battery upside down. Im currently draining the atomiser..again.. As it seems to make it work atleast long enough to get a bit of a nic fix !

It's an oft-argued issue around here, but all my batteries get at least an 8 hour initial charge, and many will agree. You could try with one battery and see if that helps.

I agree with Kate too though, that it sounds like the atomizer was flooded at some point. So what I meant was, can you vape just on the fluid that you've already dumped into it, does that work? Because if it does, then it's best to just smoke some of it out with an empty mouthpiece instead of all this cleaning you've been doing. By now though it could be pretty empty, based on your description. Having a new ecig and already blowing and draining and wiping inside with swab! which I've never considered... it's possible you went from low battery to flooding to smoking it too dry, which could burn it out too.

This <<"Ive also found that alot of liquid comes back through the moutpiece even if i put one drop in.. and it dont taste goood!!">> is the classic symptom of low battery or flooding, always, in my experience (presuming the atomizer warms). So you might have dud parts, or else put together a potpourri of problems for yourself from the start and got into kind of a wicked loop trying then to fix them. If you can't get out of it with the tips you've gotten, then you might have to go for a replacement and give it another, wiser-from-experience try. :)
