My gf and I have been using eCigs for 3 weeks now and have ditched cigarettes completely.

We picked up an ego-t starter kit from cignot.com, and some juice from totallywicked.. and so far it's going very well.

The only thing we're frustrated with is that the taste seems to change a lot. I think part of it may be that the flavoring in eJuice seems to be affected a lot more if I've eat/drink anything before vaping.

The other part is how to clean the atomizer and get it to kick back in afterwards. We tried rinsing out with ethyl alcohol (>99%) and then blowing it out with compressed air and letting it air out. However, the taste just doesn't seem to be kicking back in real well.

I wonder if our juice is going bad perhaps?

Anyway, amazing community here. We read a ton of posts before we made the jump. Much appreciated to all who have contributed to ecf!

WElcome to ecf. Glad you found us. You may want to try another juice vendor. I have never tried totallywicked for their juice so I am not qualified to answer on them specifically. However, I use the ego-t and have not had a flavor problem. There are several good juice vendors,.i.e. fsusa, velvet vapors, purevapes just to name a few.
Hope this helps.

If you are using atty and carts, part of the problem could be the cart stuffing. I recommend the precut blue foam stuffing for 510 at strictlyejuice.com (super cheap). On a full fill, you can fill the cart 1/2 way with liquid, insert the foam tapered end first. Push the foam down into the liquid to get the foam wet. Reposition the foam even at the top of the juice cup (a small smooth unbent paper clip is handy). Then top off with 2-3 drops - whatever it needs to look damp on top. After that you can just top off as needed until it's so dry that you need another full fill.

Re attys - sometimes alcohol isn't enough. Blow out the atty. Then you can try running hot tap water through it or soak it in a bowl of near-boiling water (make sure all air bubbles are out of it). Shake/blow out when done. Sometimes I do alcohol bath too just because alcohol dries quicker and to get off any oily residue from oil-based flavorings (almond, citrus etc).Shake or blow out then dry. When done cleaning and drying, you need to prime atty with 2-3 drops and let it soak in down to the coil.

Flavor - you need to smell the vapor. The tongue part will vary greatly based on what you are eating or drinking. Hot drinks dull flavor for me. People say alcohol does too. Cold drinks like ice water seem to refresh flavor for me. Plus you can just get used to a flavor. I use cartomizers and alternate flavors. Note - the tongue can only taste sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami (msg) - the rest is aroma.

Get some cartomizers - most people end up dripping and/or using cartomizers rather than cart+atty. The Boge soft-cap cartos are nice and with an Ego you can use both the standard and the hotter low resistance.

We're using the ego-t (tank) so I don't know if any of this applies?

Great info, thank you much! I'm getting an extra atty and some more flavors, going to try rotating flavors/cleaning cycles and see if that helps.

Again, we use the ego-tank. But i see there are low-resistance atomizers for it... but the vapor/throat hit hasn't been a problem with the normal atomizers so I don't know if there would be a benefeit?

My best guess is that your tastebuds are recovering from years of smoking.
And because of that, flavors tend to fluctuate a bit for many people.

If that is the case, things should settle down with your tastebuds fairly soon though.

I missed the Tank part - sorry. Some people have trouble with the tanks delivering flavor well. Re VG - you may need to thin it for the tank if it's a thick VG. What kinds of flavors do you like? Maybe people could suggest brands with more flavor and/or aroma.

Strongest tobacco flavor/aroma I ever used was FreedomSMokeUSA Desert Ship - nice nutty pungent Turkish blend - reminds me of a freshly opened pack. I wanted to try their Camtel (should be similar but maybe a bit spicy)

Strongest Vanilla - Vapor4Life WOW Vanilla is strong sweet rich and marshmallowy

I just ordered a bottle of Juicy Vapor Butter Rum Caramel after trying a 3ml sample - that had nice flavor

An eggnog I made at Gourmet Vapors is a strong flavor too - has too much nutmeg (10% is minimum for each flavor when you create your own). Lotta rum, lotta nutmeg. Strong - store the bottle away from your other juices so they don't pick up the aroma. I use an empty Olivio (margarine) tub to store very aromatic flavors away from my 3630 deep Plano boxes of juice.

Actually that could very well be part of the problem. Now that i think about it other things have been changing taste a bit as well. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info! Gourmet Vapor looks awesome. I'll have to order a few samples from them and see how they are. I love how much you customize everything, very cool :)
