Received new eGo-C Twist, and when battery was charged up, went to use it and the button light flashed a bunch of times and then quit. Would not come on. Tried charging again, same thing happened -- the button light will flash a bunch of times (many more than 5) and then there is "nothing".

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this, or should I just return it for an exchange?

Maybe it's turned off. Try clicking the button 5 times rapidly.

Also if you're using a clearo/atty/carto that has gone below 1.0 ohms, then it may be the short circuit warning.. try another clearo/atty that you know is around 2.0 ohms.

One other things would be if the clearo/atty/carto isn't making a connection. Pry up easily, the center post on the clearo/atty/carto - usually the joyetech batt center posts are in a good spot but you could pull them up a bit.

BUT if no go on all of those, contact the vendor for a return. Soon - check the vendors guaranty/warranty/return policy.

It appears to charge all the way -- the light flashes red/green and eventually green. Takes about 3 hours to charge, have not actually timed that.

As to prying up the center post a bit, would this be the center post (connection location) on the battery itself?

I'd do the clearo/carto/atty first. Joye batts are usually at a good spec depth. But if needed then do the batt as well.

Sounds like its turned off to me and five rapid (fast as you can go) should turn it on - the light will blink after you click it rapidly 5 times to tell you it is on. By default they come from the factory turned off so you do have to turn them on after charging. Even if you pushed the button a few times trying it out it probably was not rapidly enough to turn it on.

With the ego-v some of them oddly had to go through an off/on cycling loop. 5- rapid clicks, let the button blink, wait a few seconds and then repeat - that should have it back to off. Then repeat again to turn it on. If it still is not working do it one more time in case for some reason it came to you turned off and the loop you just did left you turned off. Not sure why they do this. Some people have returned then only to have them clicked 5 times again and they work while the person returning it is a long time ego user and knows about the on/off clicking - and no reason not to believe they performed that when they said they did. I have seen this happen in the user group a bunch of times with the ego-vv. Users come in terribly disappointed only to have one of us repeat the 5 clicks and that was what it needed a second on/off sequence.

Of course, sometimes batteries come DOA. Its best to contact the retailer/vendor ASAP and not try fixing yourself. Many retailers/vendors have a very short DOA return policies (like 48 hours) and after that you have to deal with the manufacturer. So don't waste a bunch of time trying to mess around with it to get it to work, just see about getting a replacement. Its brand new out of the box and should work without messing around with it - if not let the seller deal with the broken one. I have had users go through adjusting post height and other things and by the time they decide they can't it working the DOA return time is up. We have a collection of batteries for one of out more engineering types to fool with that came DOA and the vendor was not quickly informed. Better to inform retailer/vendor that's its DOA or take it back to the store and then have it work then the other way around.
