Ok, so I didn't initially intend to quit. I was just looking to "supplement" my smoking during my workday. I work as a courier, and didn't want my packages smelling of smoke when delivered.

2 days in on some cheap, no name, disposables and I was converted. Bought an "off-brand"(In feeling) 3 level VV eGo kit at a local B&M(oddly, my step-son got a much better price on the same kit 2 days later at the same store). Now have 3 Evod eGo batteries, 3 Evod clearos with 1.8 ohm coils, and have narrowed my ADV juices to 2. Vape Dojo is local to me a couple of times a week, and has become my "go-to" shop. Great prices, and no complaints on the service.

53 days and counting, and I already feel better and can breathe soooooo much better. Spent less than half of what I would have on cigarettes. The wife says I don't come home smelling like an ashtray. A win all the way around.

I really decided to post today because of the local "Vapefest". My workday ended at 8:30pm tonight, about 5 minutes from the Dulles Hyatt. Stopped in hoping to see what vendors were there, and probably buy something.

when I tried to walk in, I was asked if i had an "event pass". I said no, and was pointed to the registration desk. Got there and was told that there was a $25 fee for the pass. Couldn't do it, especially with less than 2 hours left on the event. Not the best service, but then again, the "community" isn't why I started vaping.

/rant and intro.

$25.00?? Ouch were they giving away samples? I stopped going to many of the shows around here because the pass was just too expensive IMO. I mean the sporting/outdoors/hunting/fishing shows had a hefty charge when the home and garden, boating and car shows were free. Just not equitable.
Anyway congratulations on ditching the coffin spikes.

Congrats on the switch. I would have actually saved money sticking with my hand rolls, but like you said

I dont know if you had smoking related sleep issues but I am sleeping much better as well.

I probably would have spent the $25 as we dont have those type of events up here.

Hey, and welcome to you! You folks that didn't mean to quit just crack me up!:D I think it's wonderful, but funny to me, because I wanted so badly to quit and was afraid it wouldn't work.

But it did work for me, just like it did for you, and here I am, not smoking for almost 3 months.

Sorry about the disappointing Vapefest. I wouldn't have paid the $25 either. I can't see spending money in order to spend my money, lol.

Congrats on the switch...as a general question, are the vapemeets newbie friendly? I mean I do not use a mech and don't do rebuilds...

I felt welcome at my first one and have attended almost every NEV meet this past year.
I walked into a foggy basement and made myself at home.
I was welcomed by a member that didn't recognize me.
I bounced from table to table asking questions and never noticed any snobbery.
Everyone was helping each other and enjoying different vapes and trying out each others gear.
I used an Ego with a protank at the time.
There's usually noobs at each meet. Remember that everyone there was a noob at one time or other.
I found helping other people with their addictions is the best way to keep my own down :)
