Hello everyone. I figured I would make my first post and 'tell my story' so to speak.
I was a pack or more per day smoker from age 19-25 when I quit for the first time. This went very well for about six months but as you can imagine, it didn't last. Social situations, stress, etc ... whatever excuse I used to justify it at the time. Luckily it's never been quite as bad of a habit ever since those first five years, but I still hated that I did it. There were a few more failed attempts and the last attempt I made was mildly successful. I refused to start smoking cigarettes again, and instead would occasionally smoke little cigars, you know, the flavored kind ... not good cigars =] That kept me satisfied for a while. And it was nice that I could just buy one or two and not have a whole pack lying around. After a while I noticed I was smoking more and more of those and they were very harsh on my throat. Couldn't do it anymore. This was about a month ago and I have had one cigar and zero cigarettes since (I couldn't stand the cigar and didn't finish it, went straight back to vaping)
I had my first experience with vaping about 6 months before my first attempt to quit. I did some research and picked up a joye 510. The old slim model with the manual battery. Normal carts with the filler. This was way before tanks and cartomizers(at least no one told me about them =]). There was dripping but that just seemed and even messier and even more of a pain. I ended up with some blue polyfil carts and it was okay. It satisfied the cravings, and I smoked much less when I had it. But it was just too messy and too much of a hassle. I also didn't get to try any good juices, so I wasn't a huge fan of those.
I decided to revisit the electronic cigarette world about a month ago and was astonished to find all these new improvements and it all seemed pretty fantastic. I ended up getting a Tornado Tank compact kit for $40 and figured I'd give it another shot. I was pretty impressed. It didn't leak on me. It lasted all day. I never had nicotine cravings.
I decided to do some more research and see what other information I could find. That brought me here and I have been scouring this forum for information for weeks =] I'm off the tanks and am now dripping on a LR 510(have a 1.5 and a couple 1.8's) on my ego battery. I found these fantastic things called drip shields and I haven't once gotten juice on my hands when I wasn't expecting it, and never in my mouth with drip tips(though I don't drip through them). Cigarettes were never this good!
I've recently taken the next step and ordered a VV Foxy Box Mod from Steve here on the forums. I should have it on Monday and am super excited to taste something other than <= 3.7v and try a cartomizer for the first time. I hear great things and I hear bad things, but I'll try most things once!
I also got my girlfriend off of analogs and into vaping when I bought her an eGo =]
