New forums.....Reorganisation

I think there comes a time when it becomes difficult to find where it is you are suppose to be posting and it becomes a little confusing. IMO, it's probably a bit like this now but then people seem to like more forums, so give it to them! You can always add and remove depending on what works.

What extra forums are you thinking?

Phew, am I glad to see the forum up and running again! I think I'm as addicted to the forum as I am to e-cigs! :D

I think there comes a time when it becomes difficult to find where it is you are suppose to be posting and it becomes a little confusing.
I'd agree with that, in particular when it comes to the "New Members Forum" and the "General E-Smoking Discussion" one. Being a newbie myself who's just reached enough posts to start new topics elsewhere (I think?), I'm now confused as to which of the two I should post certain questions in as both can have similar queries/topics.

I'm also wondering if liquids shouldn't be given a forum of their own as it's seems a subject that gets a lot of topics? In turn, the DIY Liquid sub-forum and Liquid reviews could perhaps be sub-forums? These two are presently in different parent forums, which are maybe also adding to any present confusion?

On the other hand, I get a bit confused with the current Liquid reviews one, as some people start asking general questions in review topics rather than giving their own review of whatever flavour in it. That side of things can be very difficult to control though...

Would one for general news items be an idea, maybe pulling the news in via RSS, rather like on the E-Cig News site - E-cig News: The electronic cigarette news & info review?

I was just thinking that a parent forum for outside new stories, as they're found, would be good. Every time there is a news story that someone spots, they can post the link and then the members can go there and in the comments section (if there is one) tell our side of the story. It may be an efficient means for this community to effectively communicate it's concerns and effect public perception. Also, while commenting in these news sites, many users will send readers back to this forum so they can really learn what it's all about.

Here's a post to a great way to keep on top of e-cig news:

The eliquid forum or category makes sense maybe have categories entitled manurfactures of the ecigs..example Janyt kiss box, Screw driver (my favorite) Njoy cigar so people can see at a glance how each device performs and also give reviews on the product as well as the customer service and where they purchased the unit. I think the suppliers will up the antee if they know this is the holly grail for reviews. It would be nice to let us know what county the suppliers are located to help us save on S&H costs.

You know what would be great? A subforum called: Deals

I'm always looking to see where the best prices are for atomizers and liquid.

Suppliers could post promotions and coupon codes

Users who find a good sale or notice a good price for something could have a place to post.

It would be great for competition among suppliers too.

Hey SJ ... Love the forum and you done a great job on getting the site up and running. It is running awesome now:thumbs:.

I was just reading the reviews section and saw this post http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-liquid-reviews/6038-puresmoker-camel-e-liquid-review.html
I really liked Terraphons rating scales and descriptions. That made me think. Is it possible for you to have a template for reviews where people pick or enter a number for the different aspects vapor, throat hit etc .... then maybe a box to put in any additonal comments, recommendations they may have about the juice.
Could do a similar thing for hardware.

I think having a standardized review method/ranking system would make it better for everyone.

If there is something in place already and i just plain missed it i apologise :D.

Keep up the good work.

Uk i totally agree with that and add maybe even requiring it for the video reviews as well parked des great vid reviews but i am not laways in areas to listen so your idea would work great if they had to fill in a standrad format the attatch there video and add writien comments to even post. i know i would be more work but would be so worth it in the end

On a similar note... the Supporting Suppliers subforums might be great for communicating with one supplier, but for keeping up on generally what the suppliers are doing and product announcements and deals - an exercise in frustration, opening and closing all those subforums plus monitoring the old Suppliers forum. It will shortly be too time consuming to bother with. If you can resolve this somehow I'd be thrilled.

Well, the sponsoring suppliers are also able to post in the main suppliers forum. I will suggest that they ensure to duplicate any offers they make in their forums there....

Thanks Smokey. Is it possible to add the option of viewing New Posts for one section (Supporting Suppliers)? If that was the case you could change it to a Suppliers Forum and have all the 'supporting suppliers' subforums plus one subforum for 'other suppliers' and we could still browse everything without duplication.

As it is now, with more and more polls, they eventually get lost and forgotten about, pages back in whatever forum they're in. Someone may then come along and start a new poll similar to one that's already been done.

I was wondering if all polls shouldn't go into a forum of their own - just simply called "Polls" or something - as they'd then always be visible for all to keep voting in and for all to see the "statistical" results and related replies in these polls.

It would mean moving existing polls into any such new forum though. This might also avoid any possible repeat polls.
