I'd like to put in my two cents here. A lot of the forums are getting quite large. I see threads with thousands of posts. I, for one don't bother to try to look that far into a thread. I know there's a lot of valuable information in these large threads, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, and start eliminating some of the content to save on room.

Spring cleaning, so to speak.

I see there's another supplier running a competition with the stated intention of reaching at least 5,500 posts. Is that number the 'allowed' limit before it is deleted and I have missed the rule update or what? After all the stink that was raised with the last one I thought that guidelines might have been implemented?

More Subcategories -
E-cig and the law news (videos, articles)/ with FDA/Campaigning/General questions or thoughts as subcategories.

E-Liquid with subs - Reviews/DYI general discussion/DYI recipes
You could then move the DYI out of tips and tricks section.
Maybe a health and safety section as well or maybe that should go under New Members?

Perhaps even a social forum so there is a place to toss those "Are you going to see Star Trek when it comes out" topics.

I feel for you. It is difficult with new topics being created that don't match a category.
I love the sticky's

A separate forum with regard to Praises/Complaints would be nice where possibly (?) noone can add to your post to sabotage it. Is that possible? Here would be all the good experiences as well as the problems. The praises/complaints forum would then segregate the problematic posts that appear in the general forum area.

From my personal experience, I respectfully posted a true problem that hadn't been resolved via emails and phone calls in a supplier's forum and I got totally blasted left and right by the supplier's fanboys. Even to the point where attacks were made to my personal character. The original issue got totally obscured by the attacks.

Was totally saddening and disheartening. :(

As such, I think the suppliers forums should be limited to just promoting their products and supplies and posts can only be made by the supplier. With the supplier having the ability to delete at will, noone really gets a true picture of the supplier other than the opinions of the fanboys.

Hide all the supplier ones in the community thread so you have to click to see it, it will make the main page less cumbersome. Change the General E-cig discussion to only have subforms under it(no posts) and inside create a general e-cig discussion, news, law, ecig in public
keep the national form as is

Problem seems that there are so many forums on the main page, its easy to get lost and post in wrong place

I would love to see the Classifieds, Swaps etc., broken down to 2 separate forums. One for US and one for Europe, reason being, I love to check through the list and so often am disappointed when something I am looking for is in the US, making shipping charges etc just a bit too expensive.

What does everyone else think?

I would like to see an area called the Library...a storage area for valuable links, reference material, diagrams, research papers, tutorials, dictionary, etc. That this area is for more for study than social exchange, and dedicated to collecting facts and figures and current published work. Perhaps divided by subjects, such as electronics, chemistry, politics, etc.

Agreed, a research/reference area would be nice.

The model-specific forums would be great, if people actually posted there instead of in the main forum. I mod a forum, so I get how much of a pain it is to be moving threads around constantly (and to be constantly reminding ppl to post in the appropriate forums/threads). But it's really hard to find specific info here.

A recipe section in DIY liquid would rock also ;)

I know I'm a newb, and maybe this has been asked before... but is there a reason the Supporting Suppliers forum/listing isn't alphabetized? If there is and it's for monetary reasons than I'll keep quiet :) In general it's quite a long list and hard to find a certain supplier's section quickly.

I've been pushing for this for a while now. It's so confusing when looking for a specific supplier, and becoming more confusing daily as new suppliers come on board.

I don't think this would be a hard thing to do, so I don't know why it hasn't happened? It would be such a time saver and make finding a specific supplier so much easier!

The supplierslist isn't alphabetized because they feel it wouldn't be fair on the T's, V's and Z's (and all around them) - most would start from the top, find a supplier they like before getting halfway through, and those shops starting with 'later' letters of the alphabet would be left with far less customers then the 'top of the list' suppliers - so they agreed on regularly mixing of the list.
I can understand this reason.
But it IS hard to find what you are looking for this way...

Suggestion: divide the list into countries and (for big countries like US) into regions.
Then do the mixing under each region/country as wished. You could even mix the regions regularly... not all too hard to find your own region, if so wished, even if it's on a different place next time... you only have a list of very reasonable length to have to go through, as to the headings (telling which region/country follows).

I understand it, but I don't agree with it. How many readers are randomly picking vendors to check out, as opposed to looking for a specific vendor? Maybe when a reader is new to vaping and/or these forums they will just "pick one" as a starting point, but once the "initiation" is over they will most likely want to go to a specific vendor.

It wouldn't be so bad if there were only a dozen or so, but we now have 80+, and it will only get worse. It is becoming unweildy without the ability to sort/filter the list to quickly find a vendor you are looking for. It's like trying to find a specific card in a deck of 52, after they have been shuffled.

I do like the suggestion of dividing by country, since many of us do not want to deal with customs, and want to order from vendors in our own country.

new to vaping, but I wonder (maybe there is, as I am also new to forum usage) if there exists one or both of the following:

1. a subforum for geography (say all vapers in IL, WI, or TX)...that way could swap stories and or meet for vaping
2. a subforum for vape friendly establishments.

Thanks for the hard work in setting this site up. it has been a lifesaver...I also want to shout out to all of the suppliers. I know this is a new product, but man it is nice to have so much first and second hand knowledge of great customer service. It is so rare in every other aspect of life. I would name names, but it seems that it is the majority of the suppliers out there. Keep up the good work.
