Hi guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Amy, and until Friday had been smoking for 5 years. I had gone through a difficult divorce and picked the habit back up after quitting cold turkey 15 or so years earlier...beat myself up daily, it's such a disgusting habit. Truth is, I have four kids, am a full time nursing student, and work in my spare hours...the stress level is, shall we say, immense. Still, I was disgusted with myself. Here I am, supposed to be a role model in all areas of my life and I'm outside chain smoking. I was progressively getting tired of it, but I had tried lozenges, the gum, everything except the pharm meds and I was worried that those might push me over the edge. Talked to my doc about it and she said that ordinarily she'd be behind someone all the way to quit, but considering my personal stress level, she would wait until I graduated to start thinking about it! I remembered a friend in Florida had quit using some sort of e-cig, so I went to a store and picked up a disposable. Ew. Tasted like burning plastic. But I knew I was onto something. I placed an order on Christmas with V2 and have been smoke free since 12/28. Haven't smoked an analog and have only had a couple of moments of wanting one. Thinking I could really get into this vaping thing...I placed an order with a couple of juice companies and am awaiting my mail! Glad to be part of your forum. I've already read so much here and learned a lot even before I registered. Haven't read all the forums but from what I have, this seems like a very respectful and thoughtful place for discussion. Thanks!

Welcome to ECF Amy! Glad to see you've come on board and that the V2 is working out for you! I used them for quite awhile when I first started, and was pretty happy with them! I was a die-hard smoker of 43 years. I was a scary-heavy chain smoker. Nothing...absolutely NOTHING worked to get me to quit smoking until I found the e-cigs in 2011. Tell you the truth...I figured it was hopeless and I'd probably die with a cigarette in my hand or mouth. But much to my surprise and joy...I stopped smoking cold on a dime from my first vape forward. Absolutely done. Stick a fork in it! And 15 months later I am still smoke free...and happier than I've been most of my life. Just be warned...vaping can become an obsession. The different flavors, the different batteries and hardware. But, oh boy! What a magnificent obsession!

Thanks! I can easily see this becoming a zen hobby for me...ordered two eGo batts and several assorted clearomizers from Discountvapers.com today...did I mention I'm awaiting my sampler from AIV? I feel like a kid on Christmas. And really, to go from being a pack a day smoker to only having a craving for a cigarette twice in 4 days is unbelievable for me! I love the V2s for on the go (cannot smoke on campus at most hospitals these days, not to mention the smell is gross) but I'm hoping for some Wonderland vape at home :)
