Well, I got tired of all my stuff just laying around, unorganized and strewn about, so I decided to make my own vape gear organizer. I found a couple chunks of 4x4 cedar, and brought them to the ol' drill press. After some rough measurements, drilling, and sanding, here's what I ended up with. Thought I would post up some pictures to see what the rest of you think about them, and possibly spark some inspiration to create some handy, and simple to make, gear organizers. Since I'm waiting for more stuff to show up in the mail, I quickly realized that I'm going to need to expand my storage capacity, so I think I'm going to try to locate some more exotic species of wood; bird's eye maple, tiger maple, cherry, Brazilian walnut, Redwood, and make some more of these storage blocks. Anyways, here they are...

The bigger one holds 4 Kayfuns, 2 drippers, and 6 eGo/Evod devices, and the smaller one holds four 18350's, four 18490's, and two 18650's.

Cool. How about once for maintenance supplies like alcohol bottle, q-tips, etc. and one for e-juices, unless you'd want to go fancy and make a hollow one and put those on top of it. I would oil it, but that's just me and my OCD about making stuff shine.

Why did I even click on this thread.... I have enough hobbies already and now you're giving me ideas on how to better organize my desk. Why do I suddenly feel the need to get a drill press? Ooo shiny...

Those look very nice. Are you going to seal them, or leave them natural?

I bought some redwood burl to do this with myself, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thank you. I think I'm just going to leave them natural. I'm lazy, lol. :) I'd like to get my hands on some nice redwood. I remember there being a small stock of it at the lumber yard I used to work at, it had been there for ages, and I don't think it was even kept in inventory anymore. Maybe I'll see if I can acquire a couple feet of it and make another storage block. By the time all my new vapemail arrives this week, altogether I'll have 4 Kayfuns and 4 drippers, so I'm going to need more holes to put them in...

Haha! Yeah, I know what you mean. But I figured since it's just cedar, I'm not too concerned with a lasting finish. If it was a more exotic species, I'd probably put a little more effort into it. As for e-juices, i keep all mine in a metal box, as I don't want them to be affected by UV rays and what not. All my cleaning/maintenance/rebuilding supplies are kept in a cheap plastic toolbox, and I think there's just too much stuff there to justify making a nice looking storage box for all of it. I like your idea though.

I would probably keep the e-juice holder in the cupboard where I keep mine (then again I have the luxury of having a 2 door cupboard just for this kind of stuff) but, in my case, I'd make one with 3 deep holes for small e-juice bottles that I vape daily. The idea is to only have the caps stick out. Okay, over-active imagination going on again: progressively high holes so the last bollte in the row sticks out most for my main juice. Darn! Can I get a 5' piece of that aged redwood?? Why is it that all aspects of a hobby are as addictive as the hobby itself? Is it just me?? (yea, it probably is...)

That's a good idea, I been searching for the right MOD case and supplies/tool storage with no luck. Good Job!!! The only thing is I'd be worried about scratching my MODs.

Thanks, KODIAK, it didn't take me that long to do, and I'm glad I did it. If you do get around to making one or a few of them, post some pics. I'm always looking for new ideas for different hole configurations.

Hahahahaha!! No, sir, it's not just you. I have a way overactive imagination when it comes to this stuff, as well. And I really like the way you're thinking for the juice bottles. I drilled the holes deep enough for my Kayfuns that the clear part is completely covered so as to keep out those destructive UV rays, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for juice bottles... If I can get my hands on a good amount of that redwood, I can probably send ya a couple feet of it, if you want to pay the shipping. I'll let ya know in the next couple days what I can manage to scare up.

Thank you! And I've considered the same thing, that's why I haven't yet made one for my mods. Besides, I only have 2 at the moment, a Provari Mini and a Blackhawk Panzer Clone. But I suppose if one was crafty enough with some felt and glue, the holes could simply be drilled bigger, then lined with the felt to protect the finish on the mods.... Now ya got me thinking again... LOL!

You're welcome, and that sounds nice with some felt to protect your investments, I hate scratching my gear, even felt on the outside as well might really turn your creation into a masterpiece.

That's very nice of you, but the shipping cost might be prohibitive across the border. I actually just went and did a quick check; I might as well just buy a whole plank for the price  Perhaps you can drop it in one of the great lakes and I'll grab it when it floats by :D
