vasoline is a NO NO on the threads of the center tube. You need to use noalox because it is conductive. vasoline is not conductive and might cause your gg to loose a bit of its punch. Vasoline was only suggested for use on the orings and threads of the AVS section because it is in contact with the juice and does not conduct electricity.

Vaseline is fine on the inner threads...and all threads (i wouldnt use it on the atomizer connector though).

i just got the new GGTS and i cant get the telescopic brass piece to unscrew out. isnt it supposed to do this? anyone have same problem?

also is there a thread/ video that shows a noob how to get this thing going?

thanks.

Sorry but I missed this thread because I was on vacations buddy.

You screwed very hard the telescope without batteries inside it. Am I right or something else happened?

i think it shipped to him that way. Maybe the metal expanded slightly from the heat when it was shipping...just guessing.

Actually, Vasoline is not fine on "all" the threads as it is not conductive and may lower the voltage to the atomizer. Only use vasoline where contact with the juice is possible such as the threads on the AVS and Collection tank and on O-Rings. All other threads use a conductive lubricant such as naolox.

I thought the same thing, but Imeo doesn't; see posts 16-18....

Noalox doesnt increase contactivity Zor my good friend, it just gives contactivity when threads are damaged or when metals gets black when time pass. If you clean GG or if you put vaseline on all threads then metal cant get black because it is protected by vaseline. Also vaseline autoclean threads, thats why when you remove vaseline with a towel you see the paper gets black.

Vaseline is parafin wax based which is quite a good insulator, noalox is conductive so not going to have a negative effect on the current passing up the telescopic tube.

Lubricating the threads makes very good sense and using vaseline on things like the AFS tanks where current isn't flowing is sensible, but it would be unwise on threads where you want the lowest possible resistance.

I put vaseline on all my threads at the instruction of Imeo. I've done this twice and haven't noticed a decrease in performance...

To address the OP's issue, when I first received my GGTSv2, my telescoping piece was screwed down extremely tight and it took a lot of force to get it to unscrew for the first time. The fact that there was only a very small amount of lip sticking out didn't give me much to grab onto, and that made it a lot more difficult. I had to use a dishcloth so I could get a nice tight grip on it and twist with a *lot* of force. Once I got it unstuck, it unscrewed very easily, and I haven't had an issue since.

I think my GGTS v2 brass center telescope part was also stuck when I first opened it.... So I took top part of GGTS off so that the brass piece was on top and then bottom part of GGTSv2 and then I put my fingers inside of the brass telescope part and twisted.... and it started to loosen.

After the initial time, I never had a problem again..... I think its just the first time or so...and you'll be good...
