New Gold finish Turbo EZ!

LOL... just kidding. I'm really rough on my e-cigs, and I kept putting my Turbo EZ in my pocket with my keys, so the finish started developing lots of dings and scrapes. I just removed the rest of the black finish with my fingernail and some elbow grease, and found that there's a nice brass casing under the paint. Polished it with a little metal polish, and voila! It does oxidize easily, but it polishes right back up again.

I actually like the way it looks... it was looking really beat up with all the chips and scratches, but the brass polishes up nicely. I'm going to try and find a clearcoat, as the bare metal oxidizes pretty quickly when it's in your hand constantly. It looks great with either the black or white tanks.

Wow!..you must have really beat the living bejesus out of that sleek high gloss finish Turbo Ez batt to even get a scratch on it! 8-o

I remember when we first got the original Kanger demo S1 version. The finish was basically just a dull black matte paint job. I was able to easily remove the outer coat and noticed the copper finish underneath. I polished it up and looks similar to the one in your photo.

I kind of like the look; although, at the same time it irritated me that the black finish could flake off that easily as I am not that abusive with my gear and figured it could be a problem for other people if the paint started chipping off for them.
The original prototype white version did not scratch regardless of the abuse I inflicted on it to mimic the effect of the black battery.

Long story short we had our manufacturer produce a smoother (allegedly non-scratch) gloss SI type battery,unlike the stock Kanger version.

In addition we had a few tweaks made to the tanks that the original Kanger version did not have at the time. A gold Turbo Ez might be cool after all now that I see it again in your photo. Perhaps even a stainless version would be cool too? Hmmm?

Apparently you can modify a black Turbo battery to become gold by stripping off the finish?

The original prototype (Kanger version S1) did not have the smooth glossy finish It was just standard black matte so it was easy to remove the coating. I suppose if your as resourceful as djtonyb you can remove the finish from the Turbo Ez version with ease to discover low and behold there is (gasp) gold in there!

I have not so much as nick or scratched up any of my black Turbo's yet, so I have not had any reason to strip it down; however, you never know? I may get a wild hair one night and take a dremmel to one with a sanding attachment to it and go to town!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I continue to blow plumes of glorious vapor from my polar white Turbo Ex with great satisfaction and content.
