New Guy and a Couple Questions for Everyone

Hey all,

Newbie here from Colorado but moving to Portland soon due to my STBX wife and her extramarital activities. So I’m heading out there to stay with some great friends to get a new beginning, a new life, and hopefully a new job. Part of the new life is quitting analogs. I quit for about two months before I got laid off back in September. When that happened I started up again. I’m not a huge smoker, just a slow and steady one. I’ve been on the same 6-8 cig a day regime for about 20 years now and I want to quit again. I saw one of those kiosks at the mall and that got me intrigued. Thankfully I found this forum and did some reading. I have a lot more to glean and soak and I really am looking forward to learning more. I wanted to try and get something for my road trip out to Portland next week so after looking I decided on the 510. It looks to be pretty popular and approved by many here and a good starter cig.

I ordered this set and would like you opinions:

1. 2 atomizers (Black)
2. 2 manual switch batteries. (Black) (BLUE LED)
3. 1 Charger
4. 1 Cable with USA style plug.
5. 5 cartridges in medium strength USA Mix (Marl 16mg)
6. 1 Instruction manual
7. 1 30ml Bottle of E-juice of Your Choice from List
8. 1 Black Personal Carrying Case
9. 5 Blank Black Flat Filters

Is it enough to last a couple weeks? Are there any other things I should order before the trip or will those last me? I’m looking forward to chatting on the forum here as well as vaping. This should be a blast. Thanks all.

that should last you for your road trip, though you may want to consider a car charger, or a car/pass-through.

You should be good for just a couple weeks. No longer though - average is 20ml/week with ejuice around here. Perhaps pick up another 20 or 30ml soon. And a usb wall plug for the PCC wouldn't hurt:

if you are driving.. get a passthrough.. and a adapter for your cig lighter in your car.. then you will not have to worry about charging batteries.. just plug it in and go and save the batteries for when you are away from a plug..

might want to get another flavor of liquid too.. what you have should last long enough but its nice to change flavors.. or atleast have a back up flavor incase the one you ordered does not taste good to you

also .. look through the new member thread at problems ppl have had.. and read the post on the 510 info.. you will most likely run into atleast one problem on that trip if you read it all before you go they you will be able to fix it and not have to smoke until you figure out what is going on..

I have a relatively good car setup now that can power my computer thru a converter that also has a built in USB port as well as the standard jack. I have not seen what kind of USB connection this thing has but I'm hoping it's the standard mini that most phones and cameras use. If not I have a few funky smaller and larger ones that may fit as well. If not, I may be stuck with the converter and the car charger. Thanks for the ideas on the juice. I'm heading off to the juice forum to find a good sample set. Thanks again.

Looks good, personally, I would get 1 more bat so you would have one on charge and 2 to carry. You also might want to consider a PCC if thay make one that will accept manual bats, this way, you will be able to charge up the case, stick a dead bat in it and start to charge it while you are mobile.

I also totally agree that the pass through is a must for the car!

Keep in mind that Oregon has passed anti e-cig laws. I don't belive you can purchase them or have them shipped into the state.

I don't know any of the details, but you may need to find someone out of state that can,...."redirect" packages for you.

Remember to load up your carts before you leave. You don't want to have to pull over whenever you need to refill, and you don't want to do it while you're driving. I hope he's wrong on that e-cig ban in Portland, but I don't think he is. Google it.

PCC's have the usb mini plug on the case itself and standard USB on the end that goes to power source. Passthroughs use a standard usb plug to power source.

you would still be able to use it outside.. ban is on sale not on use.. and from the looks of it you can still order from out of state.. you just can not sell them in that state..

I think you should pick up a small sampler pack of juices, possibly in some different strengths, in case you don't have time to figure out the strength you need before you leave.

I smoked Camel Lights, and about the same amount you did. Since you smoked so little you might want to start with around 12mg strength, which is what I use, and maybe get some 16mg just in case.
