Hi everyone. Help appreciated

Hi, I´m currently quite a heavy smoker (around 2 packs a day) and recently discovered this new world of e-cigs. Haven´t tried any yet but I´m looking forward to it. While doing some research it became clear that I needed some assistance as the amount of info overwhelmed me. My main goal is to transition on to these so I don´t really care much for flavor as long as it deals with the cravings.
A few points to make:

- I live in Argentina where it´s almost impossible to get any system, but visit my brother, who lives in Los Angeles, every other month (or someone in the family does). Because of this, I was looking at a system that would allow me to keep a steady stock of cartridges or liquid for a few months, without spending a fortune.

- I´m quite concerned with battery life as I´m sure I wouldn´t endure a couple hs without smoking while recharging the e-cig.

- I would really like the cig to be as small as possible given that I intend not only to smoke at home, but also while I´m out and, given that nobody really knows what an e-cig is here, I rather not walk around risking being stopped by the police  or scrutinized by every person I come across.

If you were able to read this far, I really appreciate it and apologize for the nitpicking, but I´m seriously lost here. :?:

Welcome and congratz on deciding to make a change!

My recommendation:

2 650mah Ego-C Twist (or some variation) The 650mah refers to the battery. It wont be too big(just a little longer than a cig), but will provide a decent life span. I ended up having 3 total, always had 2 of the full charged and ready to go. If you don't mind a little longer size battery, the 900mah is great.

Get yourself a couple of tank systems like the Kangartech Protank or Evod (both have large and small size tank options) Both are very easy to use, just fill them with the e-liquid of your choice take a couple of puffs to get the coils saturated and you can vape away!

Hope this info helps!

This is a well known brand of an ego kit, and contains everything you would need to get started, except the e liquid. The price looks good, too. I have a similar set-up and really like it. It comes with 2 batteries and a charger. Mine lasts usually all day, and you can have the other battery charging and waiting, ready to go.

Kanger EVOD eGo Full Kit - Vaping Me

Since you are a heavy smoker, you might want to start off with an e liquid that has a good percentage of nicotine. I smoked a pack and half a day for years and years, and I'm having good luck with 18 mg liquid. No cravings for a cigarette, so far.

Good luck and I'll bet this will work for you. It is working for me.

There are other systems that use pre-filled cartridges, but I think the cartridges are more expensive than using the liquid and filling the tanks on the ego system. That's why I went with the ego.

hello Canis welcome aboard the ECF train... :D

so considering where you are, I feel your best bet would be
to get ALL YOUR stuff from one place and best I can think of is MBV

kit includes: LONG LIFE battery/with charger, a big clearomizer tank and a bottle of juice
- Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

they ship world wide
- Mt Baker Vapor FAQMt Baker Vapor Wiki

you can do a little better for price, but all things considered, maybe not...

JMO, hope this helps

good luck :)

I use a Kanger T3S tank and Kanger 650Mah batteries when I'm trying to be discrete about vaping. You can get 4 batteries and a couple tanks for around 50 bucks. I was a heavy smoker so the T3S is great, it holds 3 ml of juice. The Kanger batteries will last 4 hours or so, I carry 3 with me. Cheap, effective and not as flamboyant as all the mods like MVP and Innokin. The whole setup is almost completely hidden by my hand in public.

I am also a newbie, switched on Thursday, January 9 (it's been almost 4 days) and I just ordered this kit from vaping me after doing research all weekend to replace the c4 I started with since the clearomizer isn't refundable on the c4. Vaping me offers free shipping over $30 and I used coupon code ECF which saved 10%. So I got the evod kit plus ordered 5 more extra heads for $36 usd which seemed like a great deal since I had been looking around for a couple of days finding info. Hope this helps :)

The kanger evod that buggainok linked is the one I got, new to this sorry!

Stacy, I think I will order this kit for myself as my back up kit. Which set of heads did you order extra? There seem to be 2 kinds? Thanks

Just found the answer - 2.5

Here's another vote for an eGo or eVod.

Given your location and the fact that replacing things is NOT going to be a fast or efficient process, make sure to get LOTS of backups. Four or five batteries on-hand wouldn't be a ridiculous number (it's actually quite reasonable for most users, if a touch high).

A 650 mAh battery should last the "average" user about 6 hours before requiring recharging. Personally, I'm a fan of the 1,300 mAh batteries (13 hours), but they are much larger.

I see that Argentina's power supply is 220 volts, 50 Hz. You're GOING TO NEED a plug to translate that to something that can accept the eGo charger! As a world traveler, I'm sure you're used to that, but it bears repeating. 220 V would blow the charger if you could even get the American plug into the Argentinian wall socket!

Get several chargers, too. They're cheap, and it means you can charge more than one battery at a time if you happen to be out and about for a day or so.

Others will do better recommending a topper for the battery--I'm a fan of the Kanger T3 tank, but that may not be to your liking. They are a little fiddly.

I think I got the 1.8, which may be wrong but I thought I saw somewhere that the lower ohms burned better with the 3.7 volt batteries. I'm not sure if I picked the right one, but wanted to get my order placed and not miss such a good price. It didn't say which ones come with the starter kit but I think either will work.

Ok, So i´ve decided to go with the Kanger evod (will probably throw in an extra larger battery for home vaping). Now, regarding juices, I know that eventually I will go the DIY route due to costs and tinkering personality, but right now I´m trying to get some good standard tobacco juice that would last me a couple months, to transition.
I saw the ecigexpress premium tobacco and was planning to buy some bottles of the 24 (1 of these), 18 (3) and 12 (2), and a couple menthols. Has anybody tried these out? (Accepting other suggestions, I currently smoke camels, for what it´s worth)
From what I´ve read, a 30ml bottle should last around ten days if chain vaping. Is this correct?

Realize the laws. Not dissuading you from vaping but just want you to be careful...the idiocy of some Govts.
"In May 2011 Argentine banned the sales, import and promotion of e-cigarette. Experts claimed the e-cigarettes “sabotaged smoking prevention efforts”.

Thx for the quote. Wasn´t aware of it but it doesn´t surprise me. Our govt is a bad joke.
This seems more likely to be a product of Tobacco companies´ lobby, than a genuine interest in the population´s health :(

Hi stacydmi. I use 1.8ohm with my eGo-t upgrage battery which is 3.7v (I think). I also use 1.8ohm with my Vision Spinner VV batteries and have not had to go above 3.7v on any of my juices. Hope it works well for you.
