Well,

I came across this site about a week ago. I've been considering quitting for a while, or at the very least cutting down dramatically. My girlfriend is in the same position as me. We current smoke (combined) 3-4 packs a day. I convinced my mom who's been a smoker for 30 years to at least attempt to use this as a way to reduce the amount of cigarettes smoked.

So after hounding the members in the chat for over a week, I finally placed my order with myvaporstore.com yesterday.. I may have gone a bit overboard..

For my mom's setup I got her 2 ego twist 1k batteries and ~30 boge cartomizers and a few different drip tips to try, plus charger leather ego case and a few misc accessories. The reason I went with cartomizers is so I can handle the filling and she just has to swap them when she wants, to make it as user friendly as possible.

My girlfriend got a similar setup, 2 ego twist 1k batteries, 10 cartomizers, and a mini vivi nova, and a few tips. That way she can play with a few different setups and see what she likes. She also got charger/case/accessories/tips.

I went a bit overboard with mine. I really wanted a provari, but wasn't about to wait the 1 week lead-time to get one. So I went with a zmaxx and vivi nova setup. If/when I get a provari or the next 'big' thing i'll give that to the gf or mom. I don't like the fact it comes in silver, so I'll probably take it apart and powder coat it as soon as I get it... I'm one of those people that always has to tinker/modify, usually before it ever gets powered up for the first time.

I also bought about 10 flavors from the same shop to start with, but have been browsing the forum making a list of other flavors to try from other suppliers.

I'd like to take the time and thank publicly, once again for the amazing support and patience from my never-ending onslaught of questions to the following members of the chat in no particular order: Csdn, NitroBex, nothiefsallowed, Lance_Wallen, Cloudy, and Pissy_. Thank you once again for helping me understand the seemingly never-ending possibilities and setups of this hobby. It probably would have taken me another month before purchasing if it wasn't for you.

I'd also like to give a shout to John @ myvaporstore.com for shipping my order out 15 minutes before the cut-off so my order will be here before Friday! They also spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with me making sure I had everything I needed. I'm sure I just put your kids through college!

I hope to be a contributing member to this amazing resource!
John

I think your first order is glorious, perfect and not at all overboard. You covered the bases, which is what you want to do as a new vaporer. You have more chance of succeeding if you have hardware that works for you, and a variety of juices to vape on them.

You can get verified and sell stuff later on in the classifieds here, but looking at what you got everybody, I think you chose perfectly and they will be thrilled with their kits.

Welcome! I actually have a Vmax/VVN as well. I noticed that you were going to have yours powdercoated. I would like to do this as well. Would I just take the VMAX to any place that powdercoats?

Hi,

I do my own powdering for small items. I have a performance vehicle / custom fabrication shop, and have a small powder coating setup to do intercooler piping, intakes, interior parts etc.. For larger items I have a buddy that owns a bedliner place that can plastic-coat anything you'd like, in any color (even colormatching existing paint) all the way to chrome.

If you take it apart, explain to mask areas where threads exist etc.. they'll do it for you. If you go by at the end of the day with an ice chest full of soda/beer and talk to the guys in the shop, chances are they'll do it for you in return for the beverages since it's such a small item, especially if you're a funny guy/girl. I'm considering getting a small hydrographics setup soon, so I may wait to try that.

My experience with hydrographics currently is making designs to do my girlfriend's nails! Same basic thing, to a point...

Let me know if you have any questions!

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to do this.

Thank you for the kind words. I hope they're as thrilled as I am! This is very important to my girlfriend and I, due to our experience with cancer in both of our families. I plan on ordering quite a few more juices from different retailers as soon as I get paid again. I recently found about the reo mods after I placed my order, my purchasing finger is twitching just looking at it. I'll get verified as soon as possible, that's a great idea. Thank you!

That's a heck of a first order  Congrats on your decision!
It wasn't easy, that's for sure! It was close to 5, when I decided to try this I was planning on spending ~80. 80 turned into 500 real fast. I'm sure many of you know that feeling!

Congrats...and, of course you went a bit overboard with yours...
Overboard? NEVAR. I'm already planning on making a 2s 5k lipo mod from scratch. Hobby-grade lipo with 100C burst / 50c continuous too... how's 500A vaping going? haha. I have a 4kw brushless setup(tekin rx8 / 2250 on 4-6s) in my slash 4x4 I race locally, so I'm very tempted.

My one complaint is I'm worried about breaking it. I'm always under a car, on a ladder, upside down, hanging.. I'm the type of guy that can break an anvil with a rubber hammer. I'm also a fully mobile welder / mechanic besides having my shop, so I'm under a tractor in a muddy field or anywhere really. Time will tell how sturdy the setup is, and you'll be sure I'll let you guys know!

I'd like to update you all! The stuff came in yesterday around 3pm. The gf and I started playing, learning how to fill cartos and checking everything out. Checked the voltage on each battery, and most were around 75-90% charged, great! Since we received them at 3pm yesterday, I've had 4 cigarettes (instead of, by now, ~60). My girlfriend has had 7 instead of ~40.

She didn't like the cartos, so she's using the mini nova and loves it. With the standard atomizer, she's running around 4v and loves it! We're trying lots of different juices, and are about to order some more!

My mom has cut down her cigarette habit by around ~50-60% so far, and loves the e-cigarette. She leaves it at 3.2-3.4v.

I'd call it a hit! My zmax is very nice as well. I started it at vv around 4.1v, then after playing the whole day with different voltages, settled on cc/cv (constant power) mode at 4.5 watts. I'm real happy with it. I bought an ego leather pouch/lanyard thing, and stretched it to fit the zmax. It fits perfect, and the button sits flush under the leather at the lowest point in the cover. Almost like it was meant to be. I'll probably wax the leather to make it hard and hold it's shape.

Over all, I'm extremely pleased with my purchases, and hope to try many flavors out there. Thanks again to all for this invaluable resource!

John
