So I'm not actually a smoker, but everyone in my family is, and my girlfriend of 7 years was a HEAVY smoker, as in 2.5 packs a day.
She started smoking when she was 19 because of her dipsheet Ex and was completely unable to quit.

Fast forward to about a month ago and while at the local store buying her yet another $70 carton of cigs I noticed they had a Blu E-cig disposable on sale for $4 and so I picked it up and let her try it. It was an odd scene as she instantly smoked less of everything, and when I questioned her about the Blu she said it was harsh on the first drag but she didn't want to use it all up because she kind of liked it. I tried to tell her it wasn't an issue and if she liked it I'd get her more but basically her smoking was cut in half for the next week.

When it finally died she acted as if she had lost a friend and she also polished off the carton of Cigs. At this point I did some research thanks to a thread on a site I won't mention here for shame of peoples E-cig systems and her input was that it had to be light, and thin as possible to be close to a real cigarette. She was not at all interested in any of the mods, etc. I finally talked her into a Ego-C Twist after much debate and so I placed an order at MyVaporStore since I hadn't found this forum yet. I got her a pair of 1000mah Joye twists and a Viv Mini Nova knock off they had. I then for good measure went to MyFreedomSmokes and got a Vision VivNova 2.5 as well. not sure why I did this mind you.. but I'm glad I did. I also ordered Coffee Expresso, Caramel, Tiramisu, Clove and peach flavors from MVS. I told her basically, "I am spending you Cig money on this stuff, so use it or go without". Seemed mean but she understood the health issues and the cost of analogs was just too much to let her go on like this.

So now I have some issues that you fine folks may be able to help with. All of these flavors I got except the clove and peach are pretty bad. I got the 24MG versions since she was such a heavy smoker and they burn when inhaled, and are very bitter. Not to mention the burnt taste she occasionally gets from both of the Nova tanks when she runs a bit low or doesn't remember to leave it tipped when not in use. The worst by far is the coffee, she's an avid coffee drinker and she hates it. Loves the clove and peach but the others are just going to sit. I'm thinking the Kanger ProTank may be a better way to go despite the heads burning out much faster but I need some place that sells truly great flavors so she sticks with it. And any suggestions on a different tank setup that is small, matches well with an ego-c twist, and is fairly maintenance free? She still has about 20ML of peach and clove to last her a while but I want to keep her interested the best I can.

Also, not an analog in almost two weeks!...Sadly I've fooled around with them nearly non stop trying to find setting she liked and the proper Ohms for the heads and the juice so I'm kinda hooked myself..

My name is Dave and I truely appreciate you guys being here for folks quitting and nubtards like myself!

For clearos, I use T3s and love them. They do make a mini version that is about half the size. The full size holds 3ml of juice. Some people like the EVOD. I'm not sure she would like the Protank if she wants to keep it small though.

There are a number of reasons the juice might be burning too. You said you got her an eGo Twist. One reason might be that she has the voltage set too high for those other juices.

As far as where to buy juice, there are a number of good places with fine flavors. I prefer ecblend.com because you can mix your own flavors together and get a small sample for around $3. I've also found a number of flavors I like from mister-e-liquid.com. If she likes sweets, their "Sweet Smarts" liquid tastes just like Smarties candies.

Hi Dave, and welcome to ECF! Congrats to your GF for almost 2 weeks stinky-free and for having such a great BF!

Consider getting her a bottom coil tank like the Kanger T3 or Evod. They work great on the Twist, have replaceable heads, and she won't have to remember to tip them to keep the wicks saturated. The ProTank is great, too.

As for juice, just remember that taste is subjective and some juice just needs time to steep. There are SO many juice vendors, but a really popular one is Mt. Baker Vapor, who has reasonable prices and fast shipping.

Hope this helps!

Hello and Welcome! Kudos to you and your girlfriend for working together to make the switch to vaping! It's great that she has you to be supportive!!! She might have the voltage set up too high, maybe turning down the volts starting at the lowest point and taking it up from there in small increments. Also, don't throw the juices away that she's not liking right now. They might taste better after setting for a few days or a week (aka steeping). If the nic level is too high, try getting a lower level juice. Maybe an unflavored one so y'all can mix it in a flavored one without worrying about compatibility of flavors. It takes a little tweaking to find what works best, but it's certainly worth the effort!

Good luck and again, welcome!

Thanks for all the well wishes! She's not much of a "social" person and isn't into electronics at all so this was a bit of a stretch to get her started. I started at 3.2V with a 1.8Ω head and it produced OK vapor but no flavor really. So we tried a 2.4Ω head in the Vivi Nova and it did much better. Tons of Vapor and decent flavor on all but the Coffee flavor. Tried pretty much every setting and ended up with 2.8Ω heads in the mini-nova set at around 4.2V and it seems the best overall. The darker flavors are much more viscous so I think it's just a wicking issue.

So far she's been tempted a couple of times to grab a cigarette but I made sure none were around and hid all the ash trays after cleaning them out completely. She said she had the urge but then just grabber her e-cig and after a moment it had passed. I was very proud of her, no snapping, no shakes, no grumpyness at all. These things are a life saver! Not to mention Her singing voice is already clearing up and she's had less congestion. I'll pick up a few of the Kanger T3s and an EVOD for her tomorrow and see how those work out. I'm not at all against spending $60 a week just finding stuff that will work for her to keep her from smoking!

Would the 2.5Ω coil in the EVOD be a good starting point with her Twist you think? She likes cinnamon flavors so I'm leaning more towards the EVOD since it doesn't have the plastic tank So no worries about cracking there. I tend to buy several at a time to avoid any down time so I'll get two of each and several replacement heads and see what she likes the best.

Thanks again for the warm welcome and advice!

I'd really recommend a ProTank for cinnamon flavors. The Evod tank isn't Pyrex.

How are things going now? Is she still off analogs? I'm less than a month into vaping, and I had the urge to smoke an analog last week. I'm ashamed to say I did it, but I'm proud to say I tossed it halfway through. It tasted horrible; I actually enjoy vaping more. It's so much more fun with all the accessories and flavors. I've been experimenting a lot, with different juices, batteries, and juice delivery systems. The only thing I haven't tried is an RDA. I'm already thinking of getting a provari. :)
The only good thing about my slip with the analogs is that it took away any urge to pick up an analog. The pack with one cig missing has been sitting here for a week, and I haven't even thought about it until now. Still can't bring myself to throw it away though. LOL
To anyone that's tried e cigs in the past and hated it: it's SO MUCH BETTER now! I started with a Smoke51 a few years ago, and sadly, it turned me off e cigs for a long time.
