Just wanted to say that so far, from all the threads I've read, this place has soooo much great info and so many helpful members. Glad I googled upon it!

I'd been a 1/2 a PAD smoker for almost 16yrs, then after meeting the love of my life, I quit, cold turkey. Spent almost two years cold turkey, of course had the cravings and all that fun, but was doing fine until some extreme drama started up at my workplace, and my will cracked, and I went back to smoking. (Yeah, I know, serious stupid :D).

Finally decided to give the "ecig" a go after seeing one of my friends quit successfully... I did some research and ordered a starter kit from V2. (I'd heard bad stories about the locally available ones like njoy or Blu)

I got my V2 kit in thursday afternoon, had my last analogue while reading over the info on the little booklet it came with. I don't know if the kr808's are decent or not, but so far, they're working for me. Its now Sunday afternoon, and I haven't really even thought about an analogue. My SO is happy I don't smell like smoke anymore, and that I'm not taking in the 900000 kerjillion other bad things in smoke now too :D (yes, kerjillion is a scientific number, why do you ask?)

So, now I'm here, and wondering if anyone has any advice for me? Are the kr808s decent, (specifically, the V2 variety, as well as their carto's...) should I look into refilling cartos... or is there something else that will work with the V2 batts that's better than the refilled cartos?

There's so much info, I'm kinda in overload! :D

Hiya. I've never used 808's but my personal recommendation would be this. It's a bigger battery that will definitely outperform the cig-a-like V2 and it will introduce you (gently) into VV. I would suggest grabbing some Vivi Novas to try out on top too. Switching from the cig-a-likes to this is what really got me off the analogs.

Oh and with this kit it's a 510 connection so pretty much anything you want to put on top of it will fit without any fuss.

thanks for the info Broodwich... so you're suggesting a 510 variety? How's the ease of care with these?

My V2 kit came with two batts, and I ordered a few extra carts for it as well... I suppose I could use them for the "Out and about" times (as they look to be a bit more portable) and use the 510 at home... Do they make adapters for the 808 carts to fit a 510 by chance? I know I plan to re-fill the carts in the future... but if the 510 is much better (Dunno if I'm ready to start fiddling with voltages as yet... heck, I don't really know what that does, other than drain the battery faster :p) Either way, advice is always awesome and welcome!!!!

Welcome to ECF JL0187. I haven't personally tried the KR-808s, but pretty much everything else :) VISION Vivi Novas are very common and very well known, so I'd agree with the other comments about them. The learning curve is extreme, but as I'm sure you can appreciate your health is most certainly worth it. :)
One thing that did take me by surprise was the effect of certain flavors of e-juice/fluid/joose that breakdown all materials not glass or stainless steel based. The most common ones that I'm aware of are mint and cinammon based.
Once you're comfortable with vaping, DIY might be something to look into. Saved me hundreds over the last year.
Oh, and whatever you do, don't mention "Provari" unless you want a ton of fanboys on both sides bombarding you with opinions ;)
Happy Easter!

welcome brother!

my first choice was a v2 too, a powercig, and it's been working well so far. All v2 cigs have a 808 standard connection, but you could get a 808 to 510 connector here 901 / 808 to 510 Adapter to try the vivi nova, wich i did and it's wonderful.

v2 offers a 3 clrearomizer pack called "liquimax" wich are easy to refill and last longer that cartos. but a vivi nova lasts longer and comes with 3 replaceable heads which can be rebuilded.

Happy easter!

Welcome to the forum and Happy Easter!

If you read the forums long enough you will find that the eGo style batteries (510 thread and attachments) are what are usually recommended for beginners. A low price point, plenty of battery life (1300mah Vision Spinners are good for at least 12 hours of steady vaping), and just about every serious attachment on the Earth comes with some sort of 510 adaption. Go for one with VV (variable voltage) and you might find you never need to upgrade from there. I've been puffing on e-cigs on and off for the last four years (this time it's for good!) and if a VV eGo/Vision device was the only thing I could buy I think I'd be quite happy. The early 901s, 808s and 501s from a few years ago were short on the battery life, reliability and vaping power, and cost more money than they were worth, IMHO.

Shop and compare. I like this guy down in Texas... Buy this (or better yet, TWO), a $4 charger, a couple of vivi nova tanks and some juice and you'll be good to go...

Wow, thanks for all the great info thus far guys! The spinner/ Vivi-novas look to be a good set up, and especially if I can get them "local" here in Texas... pretty sure they'd be a faster ship than from V2 :D (Though, V2 WAS fast when they shipped...)

Anyone recommend a great e-juice supplier? I've got a few 5ml trials on order from EC Blends, along with a few blank cartos to try them in (I made the mistake of only trying V2s menthol, peppermint and the classic menthol, of which I like the menthol the best), but looking for a few more flavors.... I've heard lotsa folks raving about EC Blend's RY-4, so I certainly got one of those to try, as well as a few others.

After doing the math, refilling is DEFINITELY the way to go, especially if the Vivi-novas are as awesome as folks say
