new guy set up/cleaning issues....

Sorry for all of these same Ol' questions

Here is my set up :

Ego-t battery
Clear cartomizer (C4 I think)
Type A cart/atomizer (I believe)
Dual coil smok

Here is my issue/questions - the clear cartomizer didn't have consistent vapor, so I boiled it and let it sit over night. It looked soaked still so I let it dry more... it doesn't seem to want to work at all.

I got the dual coil and later learned my battery isn't really strong enough.

My type A, atomizer stopped working today - I can't figure out why.

While I don't mind some maintenance the 2 set ups I bought stopped working within a month. The dual coil I just pulled out in a bind this afternoon.

Any reasons as to why? Should I be cleaning them better/different? Is a month of use for 2 setups too much to ask?

now your clear cartomizer does it have a filling that takes up the whole carto and leaves a small center hole or does it have strands of wick/string running down the sides?

the none string types i dont wash out, as they have been know to be good host for bacteria when washed since they take long to dry.

as far as them not working well it could be the difference in the ohm vs the ohm of the atomizer... basic cartos generally have a ohm of 2.4-2.8 which can seem under powered to a atty that may have a lower ohm rating like 2.0.

I clean all of my devices with vodka or isopropyl alcohol. NOTE: I just recently switched to using isopropyl alcohol but after extensive research on it I've decided that it is better than vodka because the alcohol content is much higher(I buy the 91% alcohol). When using isopropyl alcohol be sure to let dry for several days for isopropyl alcohol is very potent and can be fatal. For your clearomizer not working, I have a couple solutions

!) Try pulling up on the center(positive) post on the battery. What I mean by this is to take something small(like a micro FLAT headed screwdriver) and kind of pry up on the post. When you are done make sure you post is sitting in the center of the connection(middle).

2) Repeat these steps on the clearomizer as well. That is if your connection of your clearomizer is not spring loaded. If you take something small and push the post up into the clearomizer(not to hard). If it moves and comes back down when pressure is released this means that it is spring loaded(you will not be able to adjust this connection

For your atomizer if the battery post does solution does not fix this issue you might have a bad atty and it is time to get another one.
Hope this helps T41CK

It's a clearomizer, and you shouldn't boil them. I'd say its toast now.

The atomizer will need a rinse and a dry burn if you've been using it for a month.

Deleon - I have the strings that come down the sides. Where do I find my ohms? Either way it was a kit and it worked well in the beginning.

t41ck - I will use the alcohol next time. I attempted the spring and it's not spring loaded. I guess time to get another!

I did also watch a youtube video how replacing my carty, I can't say if I broke the ceramic piece at the bottom of it or if it broke on its own. It did fall once or twice but nothing major. Eh well can't win em all

Yeah. Most likely.

@OP: If you are going to use clearos I'd strongly suggest switching to a "replaceable head" style. Your Vivi's, Kanger T3s(replaceable base but close enough) or even the latest stardusts (v3?). Cuts costs and makes them easy to clean.

Here is a great vid on clearo types.

And this is why us noobs are advised to start small lol.

First you need to understad your gear. cartomizers are basically anything that has a feeding system(tank) and the atomizer (heating coil) combined into one unit. And there are basically two main types of this too, the cartomizer and the clearomizer. The cartomizer (sorry for the confusing name mix ups but just try and follow it) is basically the cylindrical tube you have and inside it there is usually a mesh/sponge thingy ith your heating coil running all through the centre of it. The clearomizer is the see through tank you have that has ropes (wick) inside it. The ropes are designed to soak up the juice and feed the in-built atomizer for vaporization. Then you have the atty cone that will allow you you plug in a clear tank.

All three are cleaned differently. Some way easier than most.

Your milage with the attys or clearo/cartos will varry primarily based on what kinda juice you use, and if your type A atty just stopped working then it may be due to the contact pin not making contact anymore or unfortunately, you having killed the atty

Just follow the instructions most here have already given you but its really important you understand what gear you have just to avoid things like this from happening again.

Yeah, everything has a limited lifetime. Soaking something with sticky juice and setting fire to it 500 times/day will cause some wear. Keep a backup supply of whatever works in your budget.

I dont know about the C4. Is that like Gotvapes Stardust? Kangers, Vivis, and many others can be re-wicked or even re-coiled(Vivi). Search Youtube for "clean" "rewick" "rebuild" + whatever your clearo name is. Plus keeping an extra one and some extra heads around. Heads should be in the mid to upper 2-ohm area. Lower resistance burns the wick usually.
