Hi everyone, I'm new here and wanted to say hello and ask a mixing question. Been vaping for several months now and completely analog free since April 1. I dived into e-cig vaping pretty hard and have been having a blast.

Having been a 20+ year smoker I can't say enough good things about e-cigs. So instead of repeating the praises of health benifits, the social benifits, and so on I'll get right into a question I have that has to do with a specific e-liquid that I like.

My favorite all day vape is vaporkings.com cherry 24mg. I know taste varies from person to person, but I really like it. My question is this - what cherry flavoring is used in this e-liquid?

I have been mixing my own liquid for a few weeks and that is one liquid I'd just can't quite come close to. Does anyone know what flavoring is being used that specific e-liquid. I don't think it's Loranns cherry, because I have tried several brands of cherry e-liquids that use Loranns cherry and they're definitely not the same. I don't think it's perfurmers apprentice, because the black cherry and maraschino cherry are definitely different than what's in the vk cherry.

If anyone knows I'd love to find out.

Vaporkings.com liquid is just Dekang Chinese liquid. Why not just buy a 50ml bottle of Dekang at Madvapes?

There is absolutely no way I can imagine a Chinese company buying US flavorings from Lorann to make their juices in China. That makes no sense. Maybe they buy or make their own flavorings in China and do not sell the flavorings. If they use anyone else's flavoring I would suspect Flavourart, an Italian company that has lots of flavorings including many tobacco flavorings.

If you want to make your own Cherry eliquid

from the ECF DIY forum Guide to DIY - awards section

Cherry (none are that great): 1) Seedman / FA Cherry 2) PA Black Cherry / Maraschino Cherry

FA=Flavourart and PA=Perfumer's Apprentice

Flavourart check OneStopDIYShop, FreedomSmokeUSA, PureVapes, Liberty-Flights.com

Thanks for the replies everyone. Dekang liquid, doh! Right there on their website as being dk based. I was hoping to find out the kind of cherry flavoring they used, but I can still keep buying it in larger quantities until I mix something that is similar - with a more pronounced cherry flavor.

I've been on this cherry kick for weeks and I've been trying different cherry's that are US made, but haven't found one I like as much as I do as that dekang cherry. I just wish it was a tad more pronounced. From the flavorings that I have been mixing, and after several long conversations with a few flavoring houses cherry is one of those problematic flavorings.

It all comes down to the molecule Benzaldehyde, which is the chemical that gives cherry flavorings their cherry flavoring.
The oddity is that the cherry flavor that a person wants, because of the Benzaldehyde, also gives the medicine aftertaste that cherry lovers don't want. I had a great chat with Linda at PA about cherry flavoring and it's a fairly involved process getting cherry to taste like cherry without giving a person the medicine taste.

If you go too strong one way you end up with the medicine-y taste, and if you go the other way you don't get any cherry flavor at all. I guess that is why it's thought of as a mixer to use with other flavors that can hide the aftertaste and not a good primary taste. Then again if you use enough of it and you get that aftertaste, then you have to use a smoother/softener like ethyl maltol.

Again, taste is all subjective. I love the cherry flavor in luden's cough drops, but some folks don't and like the cherry flavored halls cough drops. I guess that's why there are so many different cherry flavorings available.

If I ever do come up with something I'll definitely update this post.
