Just wanted to stop in and say hi, share my experience a little.

So first off, i tried e-cigs in the past. Bought some random ones from the corner stores, pharmacies etc. Thats what i used when i tried to quit smoking before. And frankly.. after 10 mintues of puffing on one of them, i just wanted a smoke even more!

well... jan 29th, i finally recieved my eGo Twist batteries, kanger protank 2, and a kanger protank 2 mini with a few bottles of juice.. and WOW.

i charged my batteries, filled up my tank on my mini, bought a brand new pack of smokes, and went on my way for a typicall day at work.

on my way to work, i smoked a cigarette, drank my coffee, and started my day as per usual. a couple hours into my shift, i went to take my break. At this point i decided to give this e-cig a test run. A little unsure on to how well it would work, i first smoked half of another cigarette, and then butted it out and started puffing on my e-cig.

so far so good. Lunch rolls around... this time i get brave and decide to just use the e-cig, knowing my next break is less than 2 hours away.. Next thing i know... its my next break.. again... only the ecig...

2 days later.. still no cigarettes... so i decide.. maybe ill have one, treat my self..

gross.... it tasted horrible... NOTHING like the great citrus flavored juices i have been getting my fix from! Needless to say, i made it about 1/4 of the way through and tossed it!

i think im sold. and to ANYONE thinking of getting away from those foul smelling things... i highly recommend this route. it has been almost a instant transition, and completely painless! :) i figured it would take some getting used to... but ... it just transitioned so well and easy.

i will comment on the kanger protank2 and mini.

i like the protank 2 for its capacity, however im finding randomly, (so far twice in the almost 4 days) it started gurgling and letting a lot of juice through. but simply pulling the atomizer out, and giving it a quick clean, then dropping it back in fixes it.

the mini, i havent had a single issue with yet, and it seems to have a "tighter" pull, denser cloud, less airy. Either way, i love both of them, but if i want to show it off, i throw my mini tank on :)

so far im still on the original atomizers, and have tried out 5 different juices, still working like a charm and no burnt taste yet. I however have 20 backup atomizers! :) heh. by the time i burn through them ill probably be looking at some mods :)

I am using a Kanger Evod with the Evod VV and really like it. I have a Smok ego tank with the same atomizers that I use too but I like the draw from the kanger much better. I don't feel like I get enough draw from the Smok and the tank capacity is a lot smaller...I'm looking into getting a rebuildable atomizer tank but I'm not sure what I want yet.

i have a friend that has been vaping for years, and hes the one the recommended the kanger. Basically explained to me that its cheap, and well built. For just getting into it, is a great one to start with.

he told be what he uses now, but i cant remember what it was. but i know it cost a pretty penny! way more than im willing to drop at the moment.

maybe ill try to find a store that has some demo ones! if they do that anywhere. that way i can see the benefits of different mods, and tanks.

Yeah my dad got an evod on a whim, quit smoking that way, and then got one for me and for my brother to get us to quit I suppose. I know the shops near me that i've been to have demo gear to try out and 'force' you to try different juices and setups while you're there. I'm sure someone near you does that too. It's definately good for upselling!

personally the problem im finding... is i have so many awesome flavors that i want to switch all the time! therefore i want to purchase a few more tanks so i can just pop on the battery and have a new flavor without having to finish my current tank..

i just find it silly to buy all kanger tanks when i could be searching for something that may be even better :p

Messi your friend did you right getting you started on kanger. I won't say it's the best ever, but I know first hand it's a great place to start. I'd suggest sticking with the pro tanks/ evods paired with your ego or a vision (vision is the exact same pen style concept as ego). I have other stuff but my little carry case has 3-4 batteries and 3-6 tanks for when I'm out in the day. It's simple and it works which is ALL I want when I'm on the go. If you want a little eye candy to plan out your next upgrade I suggest the MVP 2.0, though I believe a new version is coming soon. Regardless the MVP is very user friendly. Welcome!

When it gurgles, you probably got some eliquid (or condensation) in the center air tube (and the mouthpiece). Just wipe it dry with a q-tip or some tissue!

Welcome and congratulations!

I found out about the " gross" effect myself. 2 weeks into vaping, I took 2 hits off a stinkie and...OMG!! Tasted like burnt, moldy wood that was buried in the swamp for 10 years! Ain't picked one up since.

Welcome and congrats on the switch!

Happy Vaping!!:vapor:

Have you considered the kanger cartomizers? Makes it fairly simple to load up each cartomizer with a different flavor and switch on the fly.

Also, take a look at the Aspire Nautilus tank, it's a little more expensive than a kanger but there was a sale recently for $24.99. Personally I find it a much better product than the protanks/aerotank.

thanks! i agree with the direction my buddy pointed me.. i was weary as to switching to ecigs, and with the protanks on sale for $15 at the time of purchase, was an easy investment to try it out. i dont really have any complaints about it, apart from the occasional gurgle here and there.

Welcome to the family of vapers!

sounds a lot easier than having to take it apart and rinse it! ill give it a try next time it happens. thanks :)

edit: it did it again. i figured out when it happens.
it seems to be getting excess liquid when i hold it , battery facing the floor and take a draw.

if i face it level or battery slightly up away from the wicks, its fine. do you think its my wicks letting too much in? or would it be a seal?

thanks :) glad to hear it was an "easy" switch for you too! gives me hope for the long term!

i will look into that one too! thank you

and yes! great idea i didnt even think of that. i will look into a cartomizer as well. is kanger a good brand for those? or are there some people find miles above?

Kanger BCC Troubleshooting:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not over tighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

and last but not least

8) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time. If your liquid is super thin, you can thicken it with a bit of VG (USP--pharma grade) or you can add another strand of cotton to your flavor wick. Don't add too much or you'll choke your atomizer and get a dry hit.

It's also a good idea to wash the tank with warm water and a drop of dishwashing detergent prior to first use--some of them taste funny on occasion. Rinse well and dry. The atomizer coils may benefit from a quick soak in PGA or vodka if the priming fluid has an off taste, but I haven't had any problems with them--yet.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattages; Kanger recommends 5.5-7.5 watts. Always start low and increase voltage only if necessary.

Per Kangertech:

"Recommended Voltage for varying resistance levels:

1.7 - 1.9 ohm 3.1 - 3.3 Volts
2.1 - 2.3 ohm 3.4 - 3.7 Volts
2.4 - 2.6 ohm 3.8 - 4.1 Volts
2.6 - 3.0 ohm 4.2 - 4.5 Volts

Please note that atomisers will burn out more quickly at higher voltages.

and yes! great idea i didnt even think of that. i will look into a cartomizer as well. is kanger a good brand for those? or are there some people find miles above?

I don't care for Kanger cartomizers myself. Get Boge LR or Smoktech LR--single coil cartomizers. Boge are a bit more difficult to fill the first time because their filler is very tightly woven, but they vape great. SmokTech cartos are easier to fill, so you may prefer them for your purposes.

Congrats, and welcome to vaping! I must say, it was a very great moment when I realized cigarettes no longer appealed and tasted nasty to me. I can't believe how long I thought I would never be able to quit, and how quickly I quit after starting vaping.
I feel bad for those who think that gas station disposables are going to do it. I try to explain to people that although they may do it for some, it's much like buying cigarettes. You don't just grab anything and expect it to be your brand, you have to find a brand and flavor that works for you. For the most part I think cheap disposables are like the cheapest of the cheap generic cigs. Not many people truly enjoy them.
They were a stepping stone for me so although they serve a purpose, they're a far cry from the flavors most of us enjoy enough to quit for good.

Kudos to you and keep on vaping! :)
