Hello,

I'm new to the forum - Wow this place seems to be a great resource.

I very much enjoy cigars and and an occasional cigarette. However, I'm not addicted to nicotine or smoking. That being said, I ordered an Ego and a e-pipe for casual enjoyment and to substitute other bad habits like eating. Honestly, I've never "vaped" but the concept is over the top appealing to me.

I've noticed that most websites that sell e-smoking products say that they are NOT for non smokers. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Should I steer clear of these things or go for it?

Thanks for your feedback. Be easy on me, I'm a complete newbie.

Thanks

Welcome to ECF, great information and good people. My answer to this is that if you are inclined to have a cigar or cig once in awhile, getting a e-cig or e-pipe is not a bad thing. My husband quit smoking 6 years ago when he had a life threatening bout of pneumonia. He likes the flavor of my e-cigs, so I ordered some 0 nic juice that he picked out and he uses one of my old e-cigs. He has quit having those occasional cigs so I think it is good for him. He only uses it on those occasions when he would have had a smoke so I don't see anything wrong with it even though he technically isn't a smoker anymore.

Welcome, stratus! I certainly wouldn't encourage a non-smoker or someone who only smokes one or two cigarettes occasionally to pick up vaping. You don't need me to tell you that nicotine is addictive. If you, by your own admission, aren't addicted then I would say don't start vaping. The choice is yours of course, and if it's something you really want to do then you are definitely in the right place, and you've picked up a very fine e-cig. (also known as a PV here.) Since you don't really smoke a lot, I would've suggested that you buy either a 510 or a KR808. It wouldn't surprise me if the eGo lasts you a couple of days before it needs to be recharged!

There are many vendors who sell zero nicotine juices and therre's lots of juices that are very yummy. Many times I've chosen to vape instead of eat. For instance, last night I wanted some German Chocolate Cake, but decided to vape it, instead of eating it .. yum yum yummy!

You thought of something I hadn't even considered; Low or no nicotine. Stupid me...somebody give me an e-smack on the back of my head!

That's OK, no need for me to get physical LOL. Heck my husband has never smoked and even he asked me if I could mix him up some zero nicotine last week just because he wanted to see what my waffles tasted like, he said it smelled so good that he couldnt stand not trying it LOL.

Smoking is not good for anybody, but I don't know about the long-term effects of having an occasional bit of tobacco. I would very simply say not to get one if you were very simply a non-smoker, but your case is a little different. It almost sounds like a social type of thing for you by your description, and I would be more concerned with 2nd hand smoke.

As others said, you can get juice with no nicotine, that way you can still enjoy the simulation of having the cigar or cigarette without taking in the chemicals or nicotine found in them. If you were doing this socially, others around you might enjoy using a personal vaporizer too and you could all benefit from keeping 2nd hand smoke from affecting each other.

I make my own juice now (DIY) but don't recommend that until you have tried a few flavors to see what tastes good for you to vape. The only juice company I have dealt with was FreedomSmokeUSA, I suggest getting small bottles of different flavors, then after you have tried them, order bigger bottles of the ones that suit you. Don't try just tobacco flavors, try some coffee, sweet and savory flavors, you will be surprised at what you like.

Thanks all for the feedback. Any suggestions for juice?

Yes. Have somebody hide your credit card from you! There are so many suppliers with thousands of flavors, you'll get hooked like the rest of us! The prices are really cheap for juice though, it's just that there are so many. I've tried only tried a few so far (someday I will try them all), but they're all great. I'm just keeping my eye out for sales.
