Feel like I'm in over my head a bit :p

I was brought over here from another forum by a friend, but I don't have her username on here, so she shall remain nameless.

If you guys would oblige me, I'm currently looking at purchasing this SS Choice No. 7 Stealth Micro Starter Kit - ECigarettesChoice.com ecig, and was wondering what you guys thought? I like that it doesn't have the led on the end, that it looks to be the same size as a real cigarette, and that it's black :p

I would like to refill my own stuff, that seems cheaper in the long run to me, but I'm not sure what I need to be looking for as far as cartridges, ease of doing a refill, etc

I work around 8 hour shifts, and I don't really want to have to waste half of my fifteen minute break refilling the thing, so, yeah.

Cheers!

Wow, that kit is a little on the high side. I started out with a Kr808D and what you would need for an 8 hour shift is at least 3 batteries (unless you are able to charge at work with no problem) and I always prefilled enough cartos for the day the night before. I am not familiar with that particular kit but the price does seem to be on the high side.
BTW- Welcome to ECF!

Depending on how much you vape expect the batteries to last about 2 hours before needing to recharge. You could buy some empty cartomizers and some juice to fill your own. Is it very important to you to have cig sized? Could you handle cigar sized? There is a kit available called a Riva that lasts much longer than the minis and you could probably get through an 8 hour shift on 1 battery. You can get one of those kits for about $30 which includes 2 batteries, charger and some carts.

That is standard for a kit I suggest that you take a look at our supplier forums. The Riva is by no means huge. I can tell you that I started with a mini and it was frustrating constanly charging the batteries. I quickly moved up to a Riva. Some people have to have a mini to start since it does resemble a cig. If I were going to spend that kind of $ on a starter ecig I personally would go with Vapor4Life (and I did) they offer one that has a little better life and is the size of a 100 cig.

Welcome Charlie! I like the Riva/Ego as previously mentioned, but if you want something cigarette sized, check out Vapor for Life (V4L). They also have pre-filled cartomizers so you won't have to learn about refilling right away. They are here on the forum supplier page, or google them.
KR808D is the style V4L & other vendors sell that comes in a 2 piece with refillable cartomizers.
Best of Luck!!

The Riva has no LED on the end. Let me show that to you before you decide. I will be back with a link.
Oh, one more thing. Most new vapers think that they want automatic ecigs but in reality most of us find the manual to be much better.

Edit- Here it is. Be sure to click on the box in the top left corner that says 20% discount to see correct pricing http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=56

If you don't know what model it really is, don't know if it's a good model or what it should cost, then no. And a good rule is if a seller charges more than $20 for a battery and/or does not sell blank cart or cartos and juice, then don't buy it. They don't want you to know what model it really is and they want you to be locked into them for supplies.

Based on the atomizers I have no idea what Stealth is. They are too long for RN4081 unless the photo is stretched. it could be one of the oddball Chinese wholesaler models that rebranders like to sell. If you want to buy it and be stuck with only what they supply you could buy it but I do not recommend it.

Good choices are 510, 510 mega xl, or for longer life and ability to use hard hitting parts, Ego or Riva 510

For a 2-piece, look instead at KR808D-1 based aka Vapor4Life

Whatever you get you will be adding juice. Despite what rebranders say, a cart (cartridge) or a carto (cartomizer) does not last as long as a pack of cigs. A cart might last as long as 3-5 cigs before you need to add juice, But a cart can last near forever - you can wash it, replace the stuffing with blue foam and keep using it because a cart has no electronics. A cartomizer is a cart with a built in atty - they have limited lifespans but hold more juice and you can vape longer on them without needing to add juice. If you keep a carto damp you may get 4-7 days out of one. There are blank cartomizers available for 510/Ego/Riva and also for KR808D-1, and a goo dselection of prefilled ones for KR808D-1

I preferred the looks of the 510 to the others, I think it's more to do with the one size/streamlined look of it though. I really liked the vapor4life you posted previously. Would I be able to refill that one myself, pretty easily? Also, I'm guessing the pass through is something to do with the cartridge?

That's good to know dormouse. I definitely DON'T want to be locked in to one supplier only.

Hi! You may already have your answers...a pass through (or PT) plugs into a usb port on your computer, so you can vape at your desk. Cartomizers, whether they're for 510 or KR808 (V4L) can be easily refilled with juice. Some people even clean them out and change flavors etc... It's not hard at all, just a little learning curve.

I started with a basic black 510, and although it was fine for a starter, I found that the atomizer & cartridge system leaked and I was always wiping juice off of my fingers. The cartomizers seem to help prevent most of that.
Good Luck choosing!
(Also- if you decide on V4L, sign up for their mailing list as they have sales/coupon codes discounts frequently).

I agree with what others have said regarding recommendations for the 510 or KR808D1 (aka V4L). I have been vaping for about a month now. I started with 510. While taking a drag from it felt very similar to an analog, it just didn't have the TH that I was looking for. I ordered a KR808D1 from V4L and the TH is MUCH more satisfying. The drag is a little easier, but overall, I prefer my V4L model to my 510. I would also recommend the 1-piece cartomizer to the 2-piece cartomizer + atomizer. I think the TH, flavor, etc is significantly stronger than with cartridges.

I saw that someone was unable to identify the model of the one you were looking at. I would be sure to buy one that is not a proprietary model, so you are not forced to buy future supplies from them at an inflated price. If you get the V4L model, you can order future supplies from them (passthrough, batteries, carto's, etc) from third party vendors at cheaper prices.
