I like so many others decided to start vaping to quit smoking. I am happy to say today makes 13 days cig free and only vaping. I am finding some of the flavors a bit weird in taste, but I think it's like any thing else I will adjust in time. I am soon to be 50 and have been chained to cigs for almost 35 years before I made this great choice to walk away thru vaping. It's had to find juice around here in the Lewiston area or anyone with really great knowledge of products so my search will continue. I found this forum while doing a search for a specific problem and was wondering if it was coming from the PG or the VG thru vaping. I have lost that threat but will keep looking for it. Thanks for having a place were people from Maine can come to chat about our vaping look forward to getting to know the group.
Welcome.. You will notice after a while, that cigarettes actually stink, and if you try one in say a month, it will make you sick to taste it. Vaping is just so "clean" in comparison. What you are missing right now, is the actual burning (i.e combustion of the tobacco) flavour.. which is not a good thing at all, and you totally adapt to moving to the pure juice taste without the combustion.
In any case, there IS one juice I have tried that has actually gone out of it's way to emulate that burning tobacco flavour, so perhaps if you do miss that still, you could try it. I haven't tried black note e juice yet, but other than that, have tried dozens of tobacco brands.. this one is so close it's scary.. compare it to a Marlborough red type of thing.. if you go for it, order 2 shots of flavour and 18mg i would suggest for a mouth to lung:

I have the 18mg in a joyetech ego box aio at present, just to use *very* occasionally when i am out to give me that old authentic feeling, and it hits hard. But if you are looking for some beautiful tobacco flavours that are smooth and do not taste of any burning, try prime 15 from halo for example. Add a drop or 2 of vanilla to it for something really special. Tribeca from Halo is outstanding also (sweet caramelised tobacco).
Sorry to go to recommending flavours, but just that I empathised when I read of the "weird" taste you described. I believe we all do go through that to a degree.
But once you are used to the taste of no combustion, you will never go back!
