Hello everyone. First post.

So I used to smoke for a 4 years then I switched to chew about 5-6 years ago and recently got to a can a day + occasional cigarette while drinking and realized I dont want to lose my teeth at 35yo or deal with nasty breath anymore so I decided to quit. I was on nicorette for about 3 weeks and my buddy mentioned e-cigs. I was like, "Wha? Screw that gimmicky crap!" Well he ended up talking me into buying one about a week ago and when I got home I was SHOCKED! I coudnt believe it!

..fast forward a week and Ive gone through a few of these $7 disposable "Square" ecigs. I decided to make the commitment after TONS of research about them to order a nice setup instead of wasting my money on the disposables. I purchased a Kgo (Riva) 1100mah starter kit, drip tip and a couple bottles of ejuice online. I havent received the order yet so Im still vaping the square ecigs and noticed since day 2-3 Ive had slight flu like symptoms and hadnt though to put two and two together until now. I think its something to do with the ecig. I have an incredible immune system and only get sick MAYBE once a year and its usually over very quickly. Ive had these symptoms for 4 days now. I should receive my order tomorrow but I really hope Im not allergic to ecigs because I REALLY enjoy them.

Has anyone else experienced a reaction to the square brand? They are made in china and I cannot find any info on what ratio, if any, they use vg/pg%. Also the second ecig I purchased must not have been filled correctly because after a short time it tasted burnt but I had been drinking and just kept vaping it (....., lol) maybe thats what did it. If my order continues to give me symptoms maybe 100% VG would alleviate them? Im just new so I dont know whats "Normal" yet. Thanks.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on making the switch! There are people who are allergic to PG (possibly VG, although I have not heard of any yet?) but am unsure as displaying flu like symptoms. I suppose that could be a possibility though. It could also be the change and going through withdrawls. You could also be taking in too much nic, although that will usually dissipate in a short time. Are you also making sure to stay well hydrated? the liquids are notorious for dehydration and if you don't keep drinking water, you may begin to feel ill. You may try an all VG liquid for a bit and see if that helps and maybe see about going with some more PG and hope for the best. Good luck and hope it all goes well for you!

Well I think I could rule out the withdrawl symptoms because I had been smoke/chew free for a couple weeks anyway. I guess if it continues Ill try 100% VG then. Thanks guys.

Also whats your opinion on the Ecig I ordered? I did some research but this ecig stuff is a lot more to understand than I had realized at first so I hope I didnt order up some junk lol.

I have a couple of KGOs that I really like. They are pretty versatile and travel well. For the price of the kit, they can't be beat. Throw a stardust, 1.7v resurrector or some Boge 2.0 cartos on em and you will be golden! I would say that you made a great choice.

I didnt have withdrawl symptoms when i made the switch. The nicotine fix from e cigs worked!! But i do experience some lower back aches with some of my friends. They said some ppl might be allergic to PG based e liquid. I mixed in some VG based to lower the PG/VG ratio and all work out fine so far. Any one else have this aching experience?

Just to share

I, personally, find that liquids high in PG give me an achy, heavy lung feeling that I really cannot describe. Have not had an achy back issue though. After I go through some heavy VG I tend to not feel that way. Still trying to experiment to see if I can narrow it down to that for sure, so who knows at this point.
