Let me start by saying I need an e-cig for dummies book!

Just over two weeks ago my friend decided that we both need to try an e-cig since we have both been attempting to quit for the last 2 years and we usually go about 24 hours before giving up. Well 15 days later I still haven't cheated in the quitting game, thanks to this e-cig. Here is the problem I have no idea on what I am doing.

Went to the local e-cig shop and they set me up with the Ego-C "upgrade" with what I believe is called a clearomizer and a few samples of liquid, proceeded to take my money and sent me on my merry way. I have no other information on this e-cig in my hand. Luckily enough I have found this delightful forum that I have now been trying to obtain as much information as possible.

Now on to my current goal, I want to go on a flavor sampling excursion to find that "adv" just for me! I need help on going about this the right way. I dont want to buy a new clearomizer for every different flavor I try because it would be ridiculously expensive. Do I need a different set up? If so, any specific advice on what to get? Or am I just stuck with buying a $6 little piece for every different flavor and I need to just stop whining?

Any and all help/advice is much appreciated!

First of all, let me welcome you to the forums. Grats on staying away from cigarettes. I'm sure you will find all kinds of information here as you continue to venture into the world of vaping. It sounds like you are definitely on the right path. Finding new flavors you like is part of the fun, but it can be tough sometimes. My major suggestion is to try to order sample sizes so you can try out several flavors without breaking the bank. The local store where I live has a tasting station where you can actually try out the flavors before you buy them. I don't know if the store in your area has that option though.

As far as the clearomizer is concerned, you can get away with switching the flavors on those. Just rinse the wicks out under a running faucet, then dry them off a bit. Depending on the flavor you had in it before cleaning, you might notice a trace of that flavor remaining, but once you fill it up with your new flavor and vape a while, you should be o.k.

Vape shops has their sampling juices with the carto/clearomizers on already, just pick a juice and screw it on and vape away. If u taste anything burnt just ask the shop to switch it out. I noticed that's the best way to find ur favorite flavor, I went on a juice binge and followed the reviews I but the flavors but it ended up tasting whatever's. Also if you order juices online, you should let the juice steep for about a week so that the flavors are more robust.

you might try getting some vision nanos
they're pretty cheap and pretty small
and you can buy them in a pack of 5 for $12.50

5pc Vision Nano 510 Bottom Coil Clearomizer [C-A1 Vision Nano] - $12.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

I use these to sample flavors because I don't drip. :thumb:

This is a great atomizer for dripping and sampling new flavors: SmartVapes 306 1.8ohm E cig Dripping Atomizer

A few drips on this and you'll get great taste, easy to clean, no wicks or tank to clean. The 306 thread works on your 510 (ego) threading. You'll want to use your clearo once you pick the flavor you want to vape.

And congrats on the 15 days, you're over the toughest part. Keep on vapin' and once you find flavors you like, you will find that vaping is really enjoyable! In the same way that smoking was a habit, vaping becomes a hobby!

Welcome to ECF Rachel and congrats on the 15 day streak! As I have, you will find this to be a great community full of people willing to help. For the juice sampling, I haven't tried the Vision Nano's yet, but I do have a couple of 510 atties that I use for dripping and they're a great way to sample flavors.

Have fun, and enjoy the journey!

ok so you have plenty of options.. My personal suggestion would be getting a 20 dollar hh 357 atomizer for trying new flavors and in the meantime you will most likely fall in love with this atomizer because the flavor and vapor is outstanding. Yes it takes getting used to and I might get criticized for recommending this to someone who is new but I think it can be quite simple if you have a good understanding. There is a tutorial on this by Hanna the creator (which you can find at Hybridvapes on YouTube). All you do when you get it is blow out the primer (50/50 vg/pg base) through the 510 connection which is the bottom of the atomizer where its supposed to connect to your battery/eGo C. Then put 6 to 7 drops of e-liquid in and give it a dry puff to see if it gurgles a bit. If it does then you know it's good to go. If not, add another drop and again, dry puff to see if it gurgles. When you notice the flavor change and it's note really gurgling when you dry puff, you add another 2-3 drops. When you want to change flavors, just blow out the juice into a paper towel the same way as I said about blowing out the primer (always blow out through the 510 connection). If you find yourself getting agitated with the taste of flavors being mixed and don't feel you have a clean taste of the flavor you're dripping, rinse the atomizer under the tap with warm water. This will flush it clean. After rinsing add 6-7 drops
of e-liquid or until there's a gurgle when you dry puff. Fire your device and take a few puffs without inhalation then blow it out once more. Add juice again 6-7 drops and you'll be good again. This probably seems like alot but I started with dripping atomizers this way because I just wanted to jump into whatever seemed to be the best performing devices. Like I said, if you have a good understanding of what you're doing, it doesn't take long to get used to. But if this isn't your style and seems like too much, go with whats right for you. Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to help with any issues you might have, just pm me

I'd suggest the Nano as well.

Although if you go the route of cleaning the clearomizer, there's less taste carry-over going from milder to stronger flavors than vice versa. But also easy to do.

In any event, you'll want to have more than one or whatever you use. Coils do fail, wicks fail, batteries fail, battery chargers fail.... :(

Thanks again everyone. I took the all your advice and invested in the nanos and the atomizers you suggested. I will continue to frequent the local stores but I would rather purchase samples in 5 or 6ml so I can spend time with the flavor and really decide if its something I would want. The e-cig has become so popular in my area that the few stores around are super busy, making the "in store" experience less than inviting.
