why do the gold rings look so ugly? why couldnt they use metallic gold? this would be in my cart tonight.

I took a bunch of pics and there's some more discussion of it there.
The rings are aluminum. I got the "stainless" rings which are actually silver (anodized) aluminum. The device looks better to me with them removed, since the finish underneath is identical to the outer surface of the mod (pics of it with the rings removed in that thread as well). Brass contacts and a great switch are what sold me on it. There's a co-op going on for this mod as well.
