I just changed out my first coil on the STM. Swapped a spent 0.5 for a new Kanger OCC 0.5 This thing is spitting way too much. I even have a screen in my drip tip. Could this be a bad coil? Nothing else was changed. It's very annoying.

It could easily be a bad coil, they do happen. Generally, when the coil spits the deck is flooded. It could also not be tight or missing an o-ring.
I'm going with the flooded deck. I know there are no missing parts so I took everything apart, rinsed it with warm water, dried and reassembled it. No more spitting. Thanks Suprtrkr. I guess I still have a lot to learn about subohm.
I have the same issue with an Atlantis V2. Running it from 15-35 watts on an Eleaf 50 watt. Tried different coils, and juices no luck. Stuff pops like molten lava. Any thoughts guys?
Well, yesterday after cleaning I thought I had it but this thing is juice city. After two or three pulls I'm getting a mouthful of spray and if I take the drip tip off and blow through it...WHAM! a lot of juice sprays out. (I have screen in my drip tip.) I changed juice to a 70vg mix and no better. Aside from changing the coil again I don't have a clue as to why this is happening all of a sudden. It's frustrating.

MotoMudder, I tried jacking the watts to 28 and it seems to help but the drip tip gets hot after three hard two second pulls. Normal?
Hey, I'm back with the same issue. I've tried different watts but this thing needs my screened drip tip blown out after four or five good pulls. at the higher watts the aluminum drip tip is getting uncomfortably hot. I think the spitting is associated with the coil because the first coil that came with the STM didn't exhibit this problem even at lower (~17) watts. Could it be the coils or am I doing something wrong?
Yea its probably the coil. I only used one, new vertical one that came with it, killed it after a couple weeks and went to the RBA.
Problem with mass produced coils are just that, mass production. You can try changing the coil if you have one, but ultimately the best option is the RBA base, and making your own coils. I've heard of some difficulties with the original RBA with juice channels, never had it, the RBA plus is awesome. and for the price of a pack of coils you can get a couple rolls of wire and cotton to make a couple hundred coils.

Thanks Moto. I'll swap out the coil. When I get done with the pack of premades that I bought I'm gonna try the RBA. What gauge wire would you recommend for a 0.5 ohm build?
Someone posted on another thread, take a hole punch to a SS screen and the little disk of screen is about perfect in size to fit under most drip 510 tips
Rabbit Slayer, I tried that took two "bowl screens, the brass kind and scrunched them in but the juice is still getting past. 
I had this problem, and changed the coil and that fixed it.
My Atlantis was doing the same thing when I first got it, tried screens rolled up, balled up but that didnt help, never tried the hole punch thing cause I never heard that before...it stopped finally but what I did before it stopped was angle to tip towards my teeth
