First impression, first tank is yep, they rock.

I was very skeptical that the longer wicks would work any better than the originals provided one would tilt from time to time which has become second nature for me. I had rewicked a couple with 2mm thick, long wicks, and if anything, they tended to have more problems wicking rather than less when compared to the little stubby wicks. But this new version wicks and vapes very very nice.

There is actually FOUR separate, very small diameter long braids that extend down from the cup on each side. No break in period at all, and I'm chain vaping 100%VG juice @3.8v without the slightest hint of burnt taste.

Oh, and the base is back to the original machining so the tank is not pressed on as tight as some later versions. There is no micro-fracture cracking at the base on any of the 4 I bought. So unless one is into tank cracking juices, the tanks should last a long long time.

The manufactures site also claims to have changed the tank formulation so this new version MAY be better for acidic juices. IDK since I don't use cinnamon or citrus juices, so we'll see what others report on this.

Does anyone know if these long wick versions are available yet in the US from a retailer other than DiscountVapers?

The payment options at DiscountVapers just sound too sketchy for my tastes. I may be a newbie, but I have ordered ecig products from a handful of online retailers (and browsed dozens more), but DiscountVapers is the only one I have seen that doesn't seem to be able to process a credit card payment in a completely straightforward manner.

I used WePay for some juice purchase in the past and worked great.

As always, for Internet purchases I strongly recommend you use either a dedicated account unlinked from your main checking account, a prepaid / gift card or "virtual" single-use card or, at the very least, a reputable credit card rather than your main checking / debit card.

Big Screen D and elfstone,

I do not mean to disparage Eric or DiscountVapers or suggest that he is not a reputable vendor. There is already a lot of feedback in the forums to indicate that he is, in fact, a reputable vendor.

That said, Eric is probably more painfully aware than anyone that his payment situation is a hassle and a problem for him and his potential customers. To his credit, he has posted a warning about the situation very prominently on his web site. Nevertheless, the two step payment process is a PITA and introduces a pretty minor league payment vendor (WePay, Dwolla or whatever it is that can't even be named) into the process. Less to his credit, he first posted to ECF about the payment problems on 4/5, which at the time he said had been ongoing for "the last few months or so" -- yet the problems are still not fixed. If he was wondering about whether this is actually costing him business, he need wonder no more.

I have a bunch of these clearos in the short wick style and love them, although the short wick has a few drawbacks and one has started to show some cracking. I would love to try the long wick/supposedly-non-cracking version, but I am not so impatient to try them that I can't either 1) look around to find them at another retailer with a normal payment setup or 2) wait for Eric to fix his payment problems with a conventional solution like virtually everyone else. I'm just not willing to do business with Eric (or anyone else) who doesn't use normal payment methods, anymore than I would bother with someone who required being paid in Bitcoin.

Your choice is your own, and I can't say anything in defense of those processors other than my one-time experience, which isn't very much at all. I didn't want to imply it was "safe" or "safer", only that it was a no-hassle, no "red flag", painless process.

What I can and will say in spite of any pushback from fellow forumites is that the "normal payment methods" on most vaping sites are indeed backed by small time, obscure credit card processors, hardly fail proof themselves. People get their credit card info stolen all the time, and a big part of this is due to the "normal payment methods".

Moreover, "big time" payment processors get hacked all the time themselves, and large and hugely large repositories of private / payment info get stolen.

My point is not that the WePay or whatever are "good". My point is that I doubt these "abnormal" payment methods add a measurable risk to the transaction. The risk is high anyway you do it and it's far more important to protect yourself at all times, regardless how a site "looks and feels".

Just wait a couple weeks...everyone will have them in various ohm ratings, DV has standard resistance only from the looks of it.

That's what I figured. It looks like retailers are going to have to special order low resistance versions though, as the manufacturer writes (in amusingly broken English) "Therefore we strongly suggest to select the best Ohms that we suggest 2.8-3.0 based on our client feedback, this Ohms range is the perfect match for all current eGo style batteries. We can make any Ohms if you insist on it."

In the meantime, for those willing to deal with international shipping from China, these appear to be available in standard resistance in both 510 and 808 versions from the manufacturer's retail web site:

Home : Clearomizers CE4 : 5 PCS Original CE4 PLUS Clearomizers V2

If anyone spots these showing up at other retailers in the US, please post a notice here. Thanks!
