I got a stingray clone and a quasar dripper. The mod has been working great but the dripper has been giving me problems and I'm kind of nervous about the battery I got.

The battery is supposed to be a VTC5. It looks fairly authentic from the pictures I looked at, and the website I got it from didn't seem to have any history of selling fake batteries. It was at 3.5 volts when I got it. I charged it to 4.2 then put it in the mod and used it. It seemed to be working pretty good but the voltage fell to 4.0 really fast. I took a few puffs from the dripper and checked it and it was at 4.1. Then I burned the wick because I forgot I was dripping. So I switched it with a kfl, used that for maybe 10-15 puffs. Checked the battery again and it was already at 4.0 volts. After a few minutes of light use it dropped by 0.2 volts. That seemed really fast to me. Neither of those were a high power build, both had single coils around 1.3 ohms. Is it normal for them to do this?

The dripper has been difficult. I've never made coils on anything with holes in the posts before this and I think I must have done something wrong. First I halfway stripped one of the screws trying to get it to go all the way in. Then I decided that you just have to screw them down until the coil is secure and not falling out.. not actually all the way down. That worked ok. But when I went to take the burnt cotton out, the negative lead came loose, I didn't really pull on it at all, it was just not fastened down good at all. After this I couldn't get that screw to go all the way back in. I took it out and it looked like there were tiny pieces of cotton inside the post. I got some out with tweezers but I think there's more in there because I still can't get the screw all the way down.

Any advice?

I was using 1.3, switched to 0.7 today and it's working great now. Used a water flossing machine to spray water into the hole and that cleaned the cotton out of there. Still not sure how it could have got in there though.
Here is a page that shows diff in fake vs real. I would check your against this

How to spot a fake Sony VTC5 battery

You will I think get an initial drop but then level off and the drop be steady and linear.
Yeah mine looks mostly authentic, only difference is the qr code on mine looks like the one on the fake. I used it again today, refilled the rda about 8 times, 3-4 big puffs each fill and it only went from 4.06 to 3.96 while using a 0.7 ohm coil, so it's definitely not dropping so fast any more. That just surprised me because I never noticed that happen on my MVP.
