Hello all,
On advice from the wife's doctor and a friend that has recently started vaping I have decided to give it a try to get off analogs.
After a lot of reading here on ECF I have gone all in, I just ordered a Kgo after reading several suggestions for getting started. I wanted to give myself the best chance I could to succeed in quitting analogs after 30 years, pack a day.
I wanted good performance in battery life to last a day without having to recharge or worry about being without and possibly grabbing a cig. I also didn't want to have to keep refilling carts.

Here is what I ordered,
KGO kit 1100mAh
5 pack of 1.7ohm single coil 510 cartomizer by smok Tech, x2
3 10ml bottles of liquid of different flavs, 24mg nic. to get started.
A couple of drip tips and a case.

I had thought about the Joye Ego C, but after seeing the suggestions for the Kgo, I figured with the difference in price I could get more accessories and liquid.
Any other suggestions on other equipment would be greatly appreciated to help on my road to success.

Thanks a million for a great site and all the help!!!

Rick

may wanna try a tank system ie startdust or so ... everyone likes something different I would order two different attys and a low res 510 atty for the drip tip!!

Edit: http://altsmoke.com/vision-vivi-replacement-coil-tank-kit.html try that. Latest and greatest cheapo rebuildable tank system. I would get this over the stardust. Had mine for a couple days and like it close to as much as my favorite :)

I've been cigarette free for just over 2 weeks now, and like you I went with a KGO. You won't be disappointed. There are some very good recommendations about trying different things like clearos or the Vivi Nova. The thing I will add is: if possible get a few different resistance levels of cartos, clearos, attys. I have some juices that I like better on my KGO using low resistance Boge cartos, and some that I like better on standard resistance Boges. MadVapes makes trying out different resistances really easy - especially if you don't want to commit to an entire box. They have Smoktech cartos available individually in varying resistance and capacity, they also have dual coil, and clearos, and the Vivi Nova (which comes with 3 different resistance heads in the box)

Congrats on making the first step!

If you happen to be a tinkerer, be prepared, this may be the beginning of a whole new kind of addiction/hobby! ;) I am, and I love it! I just keep having to tell my wife "Once I figure out exactly what I like, it will be way cheaper than smoking ever was...I just need these 2 or 3 more things." (But then again, I have placed 5 orders from different places in the last 20 days lol)

Welcome to the world of Vaping, I have been here for 9 months + now and have not looked back. I started out pretty similarly and have tested and tried just about everything else, I was excited about how much I was saving from quitting the analogs but honestly, I spend more now (can't stop buying mods, tanks, etc.) but do not regret a thing. I smoked for twice as long as I was smoke free (started at 13 and quit at 38) and my health improvements are amazing, they were noticeable after just a week and are continuing to improve.

Those of us that use the dark skin for this board can't see stuff when you do black text. Having to highlight .... just to read it gets annoying. Same goes for trying to be cute and using different colored fonts (which suck on LCD tv's and make posts unreadable). I've found a lot of people here do that since it seems to be an "OMG I'm new to message boards and look what I can do!!!!!!" type of thing. Sorry, just felt like ranting a bit.

Open it in a new tab to really see what I mean.

No advice on equipment because i'm also a newbie to vaping. But I do have advice on quitting the analogs that may be helpful. I smoked for over 15 years and have been off analogs for 4 months now. In the beginning, smoking the e cig just made me crave analogs.
What helped me through that was nicotine gum along with the e cigs. When I would have a strong urge and the e cig wasn't cutting it, I would chew on a 4mg piece of gum and take a few puffs of the vapor and it helped tremendously. The rush of nicotine along with the inhaling and exhaling of the vapors really curved the craving.
I was completely off the gum after 5 days. Then, after a few weeks I would just crave the e cig instead of analogs. Funny thing is I actually smoked an analog cigarette after being around some friends who smoke a few weeks back and it tasted so disgusting I didn't even finish it, the analog actually made me crave the clean, smooth taste of my e cig.
Now when I see people smoking analogs I think how can they smoke those when they could enjoy all this lovely vapor, with this huge variety of flavors. lol
Good luck!

First and foremost, thanks to everyone with the great and much appreciated advice.
I will look into the mentioned equipment as soon as I get comfortable with my Kgo. Can't wait to get started!

Now, Strigoi. This is not my first rodeo. I am a member of multiple forums. I do not and have not ever changed the default settings on any of them. I did not change the font color of my opening post, I did copy and paste from my order invoice. Maybe that is where your problem occurred. It is black fonts, but with a very light blue back ground. I am color blind, so I asked my wife to look at my post and she only see's black font color also, except for the blue fonts created by the system creating links.
You state not to use black font color, then complain about different color fonts. WTH am I to do!!
I know, ignore.
Thanks for the useful post.
