Hey everyone, my name is Curtis and I am proud to say that I have been cigarette free for 3 months now, and I am a loving vaping. I currently am using a SMOK SiD with a SMOK NBC V1 5mL tank and an iTaste VV V.3.0 with a SMOK NBC V2 2.0mL tank as a back-up. I am starting to get into rebuilding my bottom coils for my Kanger Protank which has been challenging but exciting :). I have modified both my APV's to make them mine as you can see below.

My Itaste VV has a beauty ring that I drilled a couple of 1/16th holes into then rang a ring through and soldered together so I can clip it to my paracord lanyard. It's rough I know but I am proud that it worked and no obstruction to air flow. :D

My SiD has a paracord wrap that was gutted so it stayed flat with a clip on the back side so it can be attached to my lanyard when I am using it. :D

Stay Calm and Vape on my fellow Vapers!!!

Welcome to the forum and great job on giving up Tobacco and making the move to the world of vaping. Looks like you enjoy customizing your gear. There is so much info on this forum about changing and improving your vaping equipment.
I really enjoy rebuilding my coils and have now gone to only using ones that I build and wick.

Thanks, yeah it has been a challenge in rebuilding my protank 1, my first attempt was a dismal failure, coil was good reading at 2.2 -2.3 ohms, the problem was with the wicking material (stupid silica) gonna try some cotton today. :)

When I first starting rebuilding the heads for the Protanks I used a single piece of 3mm silica and no flavor wick. Just wrap the coil around the single piece of silica and trim the ends at the same length as the factory ones. I am now starting to play with cotton yarn for the wick on my protanks.
I use organic cotton balls that I boil twice in distilled water and let dry for a couple of days to make sure they are completely dry in the center for my Kayfun Lite builds.

Hey thats flipping awesome!!!

I'm about 7 months now and I've got another 5 members of my family who've also stopped. In fact, latest research clearly shows' how effective e-cigs are helping people if they wish to quit smoking tobacco.

Darn thats one mighty full on set up!!! They are new to me and means I should do a bit more research doesn't it!!

E-cigs are very new to where I am from - New Zealand. Only hit media recently - both positively and lots of negative publicity too. It seems helping people quit tobacco is top priority for our regulators who say there's not enough research to say if they are safe or not. Weird that, given that that same regulator seems quite happy to have the 3 ingredients of e-cigs used in heaps and heaps of other products. Even says those ingredients are quite safe. But suddendly now, our wellbeing as smokers is their top concern and we should all wait for these long term studies to show they are safe happen. Though no-one's saying when they might start or who would actually want to pay for them? Or the elephant in the room, which is - other quit smoking methods are very ineffective (i.e. don't work) for a large percentage of smokers. Still, they care don't they? Why else would they say e-cigs are so dodgy and scary and risky and stuff? Must mean we should all wait....Wait and do what? Oh yea, smoke tobacco. Cool!! Oh no it isn't really is it? Why? Cause those same regulators have now taxed tobacco so much its $20+ a packet of 20 filters. Far out!! Yea!! Plus what if I wait another 10 years? Won't my risk of like dying kind of increase a lot? Yea, I will probably die.

So yea, sorry about my scarcastic take on our governments position on e-cigs!!! Cause like you, I think they rock!!! Though I seriously need to get a kit as cool as yours!!!

Thanks for ya post!
