Hello everyone! Thank you for letting me join your group. I have been using a Cig2o brand 808 for the past 2 years. Haven't touched a tobacco cig since purchasing the 808. I've always bought my supplies from Vapage but have recently started having issues with their products, increasing prices for lesser quality products and high prices for small bottles of liquid. I really enjoy the 808 but am constantly vaping so the batteries don't last long at all. Recently, I decided to upgrade. I read the reviews on Vapage website and decided to go with the VPRO-T which comes with the crystal cartridge. Obviously I didn't do enough research, as so far, I can not stand this device!! I followed the instructions in the little booklet to a tee yet the liquid tastes burnt and/or absolutely disgusting. I might have had 3 or 4 decent tasting hits, but that's it. This unit is very unconsistant- flavor wise. Any tips from those of you that have a little more experience with this device or a similar set up? I have spent a fortune with Vapage over the past 2 years on batteries (808), cartomizers, liquids and now this kit. The reason I stuck with Vapage being that I really like the classic tobacco flavor that comes in the prefilled vapage and cig2o carts and have been unable to find the same flavor anywhere else, (I've tried 3 or 4 other websites). The past 6 mos or so, I've become very disappointed with Vapage products and prices. Any suggestions on where to buy a liquid that tastes the same or very similar? I hate spending a lot of money on liquids only to find out that I don't like them, so I tend just to stick with the 1- Vapage classic tobacco. I wouldn't mind trying a few different flavors, if I could get small sample bottles really cheap or even 1 prefilled sample cartomizer for the 808, just so I could try the flavor and see if I like it before buying a bottle. Anyway, if anyone has ideas, tips, or suggestions about my VPRO-T issues or my liquid problems, I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance and thank you again for letting me join your group!

Hi

I never heard of them before but from what I can see, you are being seriously overcharged.
As far as the liquids go, if you really only like this classic tobacco flavor, keep buying it.
It's terribly expensive though... I would give a few others a try and check if there is really no other liquid you like.
Even if you throw 5 or 6 bottles you don't, you will earn it back in the next 2 or 3 you buy and be cheaper of for the rest of your life.

As far as the hardware goes, please switch to a proper store.
They basically rebrand standard ego style batteries and standard clearo's and add about 100% to the price if not more.
You can still use their liquid in other e-cigs as well if you so prefer.

Brad, I might have I pm'd you by mistake. Meant to leave a public reply just hit the wrong button. Sorry. Where can I check out the twist? Since I've always shopped at Vapage and used only the 808 for 2 years I really don't know much about anything else. I want something easy, like the 808 but that will hold more liquid and has a really long lasting battery. And I really like the idea of the wick rather than the fiber filler. That's why I went with the VPRO. Such a bad choice. If it didn't taste burnt and disgusting, I wouldn't have much of a reason to complain. Price wise though, I have been looking around and the VPRO really does seem to be a rip off! Liquid is cheaper elsewhere as well.
J.B.G. that's a good point about the liquid.
Where do you guys buy yours? I've found so many places. Just wonder what everyone's faves are.
Also, does anyone know if I can use different tanks, carts, etc... with the VPRO batteries?

Sounds like something's not right with your VPro. I'm using the exact same one and it's consistent with no burnt taste. Assuming you got the kit, is it doing it with both batteries and all three carts? Maybe a bad run of carts, with some sort of contamination in the atty?

The VPro looks like a 510 connection, though the only thing I have handy to test it with is a refilled NLA cartomizer. That works fine. The VPro cart on the NLA battery works too, but takes goofy looking to a new level.

Does the "VPRO-T" look like this? It has "VPro" etched on the side:

If this is the model you have, this will help-- also, it is a good model, but I think the design does assume you grasp the concept of VV/VW APVs:

First, you should check your Atomizer Resistance. Here is how you do that.

Press the button three times quickly and go into the menu mode-- you will see 1. Uu first.

Then click one at a time, slowly and the menu will advance; when you get to choice 4.Ao, wait:

It will show you your Atomizer resistance, a number like "2.4o".
There is a card that came with the unit that has a table on it that shows resistance and voltage.
Select the voltage that matches with a green row in the table. For example, if it is 2.4, then 3.7 3.8 or 3.9 will be good choices.
Continue advancing the menu until you get back to "1". Wait. It will show you your current voltage. First off, if it is more than 5.5 then that is probably too much for anything.

Do you get what I'm saying? Let me know if you need more help and I can do a video.

[Edit]
OH, hum. I'm sorry. Went to look at the web page, yours is different, they just use that name.

There is a similar model called the VPro that is an APV. What you have is a plain 3.7v battery. It should be fine for that cartomizer you have, though. I'd agree with the other advice, get a twist, this way you can dial back the voltage.

Also, your atomizer may be scorched at this point-- you may be able to salvage it by rinsing it out really well, but you may need to get a new one. When you first load a clearomizer, it can take a bit for the juice to wick up. You can puff on it lightly to get it going. If you hit the button too early for too long, you can get that burnt taste-- too much heat applied to too little juice.
