Hello, I'm a new member in Venice, CA. Having started vaping in October of 2014. What a great new hobby to help kick the analogs! I'm grateful for all the information presented online, including this forum, for all us newbies!

My current Setups:

1. Lifestyle Mech Mod w/ Aspire Atlantis Tank + 1 extra tank
2. Innokin Eleaf Istick Battery w/ Aspire Nautilus Mini
3. Kanger EVOD Starter Kit (single coil)
4. Kanger EMOW Setup (double coil)
5. Vapros VV 510 Spinner Battery with Kanger Protank Mini

My Favorite e-liquid company so far, is Five Pawns, hands down. Nothing I've come across so far has the amount of flavor or flavor complexity that 5 Pawns carries, in my opinion, although I keep looking. I also love El Jefe by DNA as my tobacco substitute (tobacco flavored with Creme Brulee). I want liquids/juice that are flavorful in smaller tanks. I've tried my friends dripper, but it's too warm and intense for my liking. Would love to buy an RDA myself, for sampling new liquids, but looking for something with a little cooler but high flavor experience. Suggestions are welcome. I've experience replacing cotton wicks on my friends dripper, which he's loaned me, so I'm not afraid of that.

Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of vaping.

The RDA world is a whole new monster on to itself, though wicks are maybe 15% of the entirety of it but if your wicking cotton then that is awesome. As for the temperature of the vape that will be set on many factors to include wattage of your vape which is either electronically controlled "VV/VW Device" or by the oHm's of your coil, or both. Sometimes the atomizer itself plays a part as a higher airflow will decrease the temperature of your vape as well.

My suggestion to RDA's and RTA's is visit your local B&M shop and ask questions as well as read up here on it, as for suggestions I have none until reading is complete and a basic understanding of what your getting in to is found. Safety is always my first and foremost concern held above anything else, these devices can hurt you if improperly built out.

That being said the journey is a fun one, a road with many awesome surprises along the way. You may just find your "Ideal vape" while on it and that is something a lot of us have been trying to find for a while.
Please ask lots of questions, feel free to try everything you can as it just gets more awesome the more in-depth you get and the more in control of your atomizer and E-liquid you get.

Thanks for the into, Steven! It's quite a rabbit-hole, no? What's your favorite thing about the Plume Veil? Just Curious. Have you seen or tried the Veritas, as mentioned by sparkky1 above?

thanks. that RDA (veritas) looks super-cool. Seems like a great device, although some people say the build is kind of complicated with it? I assume it gets easier with practice. Is it a warm or cool vape?

The warm or cool vape aspect has so many factors that play into it. Mainly in my experience the lower resistance coil builds vape hotter. Higher resistance coils will help, and lower wattage settings. The Atlantis is great for many reasons. Do a quick search on ECF and you will find some great info on it.

cool thanks - I have (2) atlantis tanks! Love 'em!
I want to buy an RDA for testing new liquids. One that I can change out flavors pretty quick an easy. I'm borrowing a friends dripper at the moment, it has great airflow, but the burn is too hot for my liking. I want to buy my own. looking for something that tastes great, but does not burn too hot. Welcoming suggestions.

hello deerose, welcome in and nice to have ya here...

so if you can pull cotton, it shouldn't be a big deal
to wrap your own wire coil...

do you know what Ω your friends coil was ??

I would make a guess it is close to 1.0Ω (hot)

you could wrap yourself some 1.8Ω-2.2Ω coils,
pull some cotton through and probably be pleased...

grab some wire (kanthal) and a cheaper RDA
and give it a shot
(those cute little ones are small & harder to build on)
bet you will learn qwik and make yourself happy...

glad you found ECF

I have a plume it's ok but as far as flavor the veritas is better IMOA, like comparing kfun to a lemo.
The build is a bit tricky but I've had the same wire on mine for a month at a time just clean it once a week, still only takes 5-10 min to build.
The difference with the veritas to any RDA is the deck well and rear directed air channel which give it it's ability to vape cooler.
You could put a .4 build in there and turn up the heat if you so choose to but a 1.5 is all about the flavor.

Veritas RDA

Hi there, I got the veritas. Curious if you have one, and if so, have any recommendations for the coil build for best flavor in your opinion? Guage wire, inside diameter, number of wraps, tight coil wrap or spaced, dual or single coil build, vertical or horizontal. and targeted ohm reading. I've watched several videos so I know how to make the coils, so I understand that. But wanted some suggestions from someone experienced with this particular RDA. Thanks for your help/suggestions, I appreciate it.

Hi Sparkky1 - I have had my local B&M rebuild my veritas about 15 times now and we just can't get any good flavor out of the thing -- can you give me some more specs on a suggestion for a good build? Guage wire, inside diameter, number of wraps, tight coil wrap or spaced, dual or single coil build, vertical or horizontal. and targeted ohm reading? I"m super frustrated, because I"ve heard this thing is so good, but seriously can't get a flavor out of it that tastes good. Any detailed suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
