Welcome Jim...everything that's been said here before....:thumb: Smoking's an addiction...and it's just as easy to tranfer that addiction to finding the next "shiney object" ... what I like to call the Holy Grail of Vapes ..:D Lucky for me I am on a very tight budget. I run a 4.2 V maual battery or a dual coil 1.5 ohm cartomizer....together I'm able to tweek a respectable 7 watts out of her or so....but it's not a 20W variable ....I like a warm vape as opposed to a cool vape...evenso the carty gets too hot after a few drags...I'm leaning toward a squonk...it's a bottom feed so the juice bottle and a battery in the box of your liking...topped off with the atty of your very individual choosing....all the benefits of dripping...without having to DRIP all the time.....higher watts and awesome flavor...the awesome flavor is rumored;) ...still it takes a lil practice as the manual button on the squonk box is basically doin the dripping for you....a friend here got me checkin out the Terminator squonk by smokeless owl .....made of plastic but with a little windowshopping you might be able to pick up up for $30 !! Hard to beat that!! Youtube is my friend ...I like "Todd's" vids on there too...he's around here on the forum too, I hear. ;) Enjoy!

Evic VT is a TC mod. i think it is not consider a beginner mod.(my opinon)

but i woild suggest subox mini as well. good price, value item.
You can use it in wattage mode, but the temp control is there if you want to experiment. If setup right, it will prevent dry hits, which is perfect for a beginner cause nothing is worse than a dry hit especially when you're starting out.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah I've already worked out to stay away from Vivid. Thanks. For example they want £14.99 for a 1000 mAh battery yet Asda sell the same vivid one for £8. Same across the range.

I think my first move will be to go to bottom coil before thinking about a dual coil setup. (More research required :) )

Thanks I'll have a look at vape shop :)

I'm pretty old so I'm still somewhat mistrusting of internet shopping in general. I think I'm quite lucky to have found my local store here in Doncaster where I can go along and chat before buying supplies.

Cheers

Jim

Hi all :)

My name is Jim, I'm in the UK and I've only been vaping for a few weeks now.

Only got basic kit at the moment but hope to improve it through time when I work out what will be best for me.

I used to roll my own and I'm finding vaping a good replacement. Only tried tobacco flavours so far. (Not very adventurous)

The main thing I would like now is to perhaps find a kit that gives me a fuller "blast" of vapour.

Cheers

Jim
I agree, with the natulis mini and just about any decent battery set up will get you on the right track.I tried several attys to date and the natulis does an outstanding vape.14 months and counting

It's good you have already grasped the Vivid situation. The more people that 'get it', the better - same for Vype, Blu and E-lites. They charge as much as the market can bear based on a market where people know no different. It'd be like paying £10 for a jar of coffee and not even good coffee too! E-Lites are the most expensive brand in the world at £3.99 per refill.

My suggestion if to avoid bottom coils too, as it happens. As a year long user of so-called "BCC" tanks (2013-2014), you should just bypass that completely. Aspire BVC atomizers are far superior or the latest Kanger OCC coils are also amazingly reliable. It wasn't the performance of BCC, but the short life-span (days rather than weeks) and the leaky/gurgling business.

The Mini Nautilus is the leader for me. I just bought one to replace one of two I bought in August last year. I got the tank and 2 packs of coils for about £27 from Fasttech. That will last me 5 months, I guess.

I really like the Nautilus mini too...before I saw the squonk, that was gonna be my next buy...and I'd done ALOT of research looking for more flavor without the hassle...I wanted a variable wattage..with a tank type set-up..since I get impatient with refilling cartos :-x....I was looking at the iPOW2 Kanger ..digital display..good life on battery...wattage is adjustable from 3-12W...works nicely with a Naut mini ;) :2c:

Thanks for the replies :)

Just been looking at the Nautilus mini online and watched a UK video review - guy was raving about it.

Looks great and probably go for one eventually.

Off to look at batteries now :)

Who was reviewing it Jim? Chances are we'll know the reviewer. (It's 'quite a small world).

If you want to try a mini Nautilus the battery will be quite important to get the best results.

I couldn't catch his name as he spoke too fast. A guy with a beard on UK Ecig Store

I'm sure they'll charge the full fat £19.99 and should something go wrong offer you no help whatsoever. I, along with many others, exercise a 100% avoidance of that shop.

(wow... vaping 3 years and cutting down to 3mg has made me very grumpy... :) )

Good businessmen. Appalling customer service. Money-making machine. Wide Berth.

(wow... do I ever stop?)

Oooh.... see if you can find P-Vaper.
p-vaper dot co dot uk they have £10 mini Nautilus on sale!!
