Hello. My name is Eric and I am new to this forum. I am also new to smoking eCigs. I've been a pack-a-day analog smoker for the last 14 years, and I'm tired of spending my hard earned money on filling my body with toxins. I want to discuss my recent experience with eCigs with the forum and see if anyone cared to share some intelligent feedback with me.

I purchased a one-time use elektro eCig, and I liked it very much. Shortly afterwards I purchased a starter kit and a 5-pack of cartridges. My first grievance was that the cartridges from the 5-pack may have been old (possibly expired?), because when I exhaled, there was no smoke/vapor output. The cartridges were wet when I opened them, and even after letting them dry out in the open for a day or so, the cartridges would still not smoke. The two cartridges that were included in the starter pack did not do this at all, and the smoke output of these cartridges resembeled that of an actual cigarette. I emailed elektro via the link on their website asking if there was a way to restore these cartridges, and I never received a reply back. I ended finding out that the cartridges eventually started smoking correctly, after repeatedly inhaling from them (almost violently).

About a week passes by and I have been using my elektro eCig every day. At this point I am enjoying it very much. I was charging the elektro battery directory with my USB2.0 socket in my laptop at work, and I suddenly smelled what smelled like a chemical burn. Looking down at the charging ecig, I noticed that the LED indicator was turned off. "Wow, that was fast", I thought to myself, believing that the batteries have been fully charged after only charging the eCig for a few minutes. When I removed the eCig battery from the USB socket, the battery was HOT to the touch. Had I left it in the USB charger, I believe that it would have surely started a fire. This was also quite embarrasing as all of my coworkers around me smelled this "burning chemical" smell, and some people started to panic lol. I explained what had happened, and I was just given an uncomfortable dirty look by my coworkers. The fact that this device malfunctioned (it was fried afterwards, no longer working) during the charging cycle really scares me. In the past I let this charge overnight on the wall charger, and if this malfunction would have occured overnight, I could of woken up to my house ablaze which could have resulted in loss of life and countless dollars of damage. Needless to say, I will never use elektro again.

Still having some leftover elektro cartridges, I searched for another ecig with a similar form factor. I came across eonsmoke, which if you compare side-by-side with elektro, are the same exact form factor. I asked the gentlemen at the smoke shop about the eons and he mentioned that they were his biggest seller. I am still hesitant to use these things, and I will be watching it like a hawk as it charges (never charging overnight again). So despite my bad experience, I have switched to an eCig which is basically idential to elektro, with the hope of using my elektro cartridges in my eonsmokes. Has anyone done this? They cartridges are identical, and I dont see why it wouldnt work, but I am paranoid to mix and match now after my experience. What about the battery chargers between the two? The eonsmoke kit that I purchased only came with a USB charger, which the elektro kit came with a USB charger that plugs into a wall mount charger. It would appear that I can use the elektro wall mount charger with my eonsmoke USB charger (its just a USB socket), but again, I wanted to get some feedback from other and see if this has been done before safely. I am not an electrician, and I am not sure if the elektro wall mount and detachable USB charger draws the same power as the eonsmoke USB charger.

Any feedback is highly appreciated, and please do not charge your eCigs overnight. There was no documentation within the elektro starter kit stating NOT to let the battery charge overnight (as you would typically do for anything recharagable), so please don't bash me for doing this... Thank you.

Sincerely,

Eric H.
