Hey guys my names chris! I just recently purchased my first real e cig two days ago. Im 21 yo and have been a half a pack a day smoker for about 5 and a half years or so. I finally realized how stupid I was for smoking seeing as nothing but bad can really come out of it. I previously tried to quite using the little e cigs that they sell at the gas stations. Unfortunately these did not produce enough of a throat hit for me and never got rid of my nic tic. A friend introduced me to real vaping and ive been enfatuated with them ever since. Two days ago I bought a ego c upgrade with a kanger t3s tank. Kind of on the cheap side, but im loving it so far. Have not smoked a cigarette in since I bought it. Im currently using 24mg nicotine with a watermelon juice. Im kinda sick of the flavor so I need to go purchase a new one to spice things up. Hopefully I will never go back. The only thing im worried about is all the things that happen to you when you quit smoking (coughing up stuff, aches, bleeding gums, etc.) so hopefully I can make it through. glad to be a part of what seems to be a great forum!

oh and sorry if my e cig language I not that great yet, im still new to the whole thing and am learning as I go

Welcome to ecf.

I don't think you have to worry about those symptoms you described in your posts. Not all symptoms happen to all people and you are way too young to have what inflicts those of us of the 'older' generation who have smoked probably all of your life. Sounds like you are off to a good start. Just keep reading and be sure to increase your liquid intake.

:)

p.s Other than coughing up the gunk of years and years of smoking, I had no other symptoms or problems switching to ecigs.

Chris, take no offense to this but you're only a puppy when it comes to smoking.

I smoked 2 PPD x 37 years. I've only been vaping since 8/21. Starting with the higher nic percentages is good and you can always step down to the lower percentages rather quickly.

As far as your symptoms go...chill out. You want to see some nasty lung crud? I'll gladly show you mine. Sure, it's gross, but all that badness is finally leaving my body.

:2cool:Welcome fellow vaper!!!!
Here's a great place to ease your mind about "the transition" from analogs to vaping: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html Like was posted, some people get withdrawals, others don't. The possible after effects can go on for 6 months, BUT, I don't see them applying to you, check it out anyway if something "different" is happening.
Drink lots of water!!!! Water is your best friend!! Expect "vape tongue", just have to roll with it, happens to all of us. And if your not really sure about what your tastes are in vaping, there's a thread on vendors that sell samples of their wares.
Congrats on your healthier choice!

Hi and welcome! Smoked the stinkies almost 30 years and had no lung gunk or bleeding gums.
Sensitivity in gums yes for awhile. A little coughing but not bad at all and temporary. A few
other minor symptoms.
Yes keep hydrated. Drink water at all times, or suck on ice cubes. E-cigs dry out your mouth
big time then you can't taste the juices. Good luck!
