New Member. First day without analogues, and E-cig

I made a decision last week to give the E-cigs a go, after reading a lot of positive feedback. Initially I found choosing one was so difficult, but it seemed like a 501 was a good start and ordered an EM Riva from China, which came yesterday.
I waited all day for it to charge, and gave it a go last night, and was impressed, so this is my first day, and came here looking for info, reassurance, and support.
The E-juices I have are VG based 18mg. I love the idea of the different flavours, but I am not totally sure about the, what I presume is the nicotine, flavour coming through in all of them.
Last night when I was trying them for the first time, I did get a bit of a headache, so I am a bit wary of overdosing on the nicotine today.
There seems to be a lot of talk about US suppliers, so I presume a lot of you are from the U.S.?
Anyway, there's my intro, I will let you know how I get on!

I am cerain they are the way to go for me, It's just a case of finding the right taste.
Even though I am not sure about the aftertaste, they are still more enjoyable than an analogue! So that is a good thing.

Hi lynniel I'm also a fellow uk Vaper, congrats on your first day off the death sticks!

18mg isn't overly high or low it's right there in the middle. Unless you simply vaped and vaped it last night non stop into the small hours of the morning I can't see that giving you a headache... Though I guess it's possible.

What are you using as your delivery? The standard polyfibre cartridges that come with most riva kits? Maybe your drawing it in a little too hard? When I starred out, I was a little surprised on some devices how much more you have to draw it in, I think sucking the thing quite hard would prob give you a headache! It's a soft, longer draw then cigarettes and a riva shouldn't need much longer then a 3-6 second drag.

If you are concerned about the amount of nic, drop it down a it, maybe 16 or 12mg. I wouldn't go much lower than that at this point though, you are just starting out and the switch from cigarettes to ecigs can be a little tricky at first, you want to make sure you get your de-stressing nicotine intake else you may find yourself unsatisfied and go looking for death sticks again! You can always drop nic levels later when your more confident with esmoking.

There are lots of places here in the uk that do eliquid btw, so don't just order from china, the states etc and get stung on customs tax, try: totally wicked uk, paradise vapes uk, liberty flights uk, ecigwizard and ivapour for good liquid right here in the uk.

day 7 for me on an e cig and havent had a real cig in the 7 days =]. I bought an ego-t starter kit with some 555 liquid 18mg nic. its alright but then i decided to purchase some more stuff and juices and i found out that 6mg nic works for me. You should def go lower on nicotine if youre concerned.

Congrats on the decision. Don't know if you've started, but if you haven't---drink your daily quota plus some of water.
But always keep in mind that in excess it can be a bad thing.

he headache may have been because I had been smoking all day, and finishing a pack off ready for today!!
I just have the basic starter kit and a few juices and blank carts to try.
I do think I will drop the nic down, I have tried giving up in the past and don't really have too much prob without nic, I just need something to play with!

Just listen to your body ly off when it tells you to lay off and if you find it happening a lot then order some lower nic juice and when you get it just use the juice you have for really hard cravings.

lol I only smoked real smokes for 4 years and can probably quit cold turkey but I know what you mean, I need something to play with too and so far this has been really fun lol.

It can be a hobby for many. It has its drawbacks but if deinitely beats smoking in many ways.
