Just dropping in to introduce myself. I just ordered my first real pv and it should arrive today! I fell victim to the mall kiosk trap and ended up with something that just dripped liquid in my mouth and died in a week. Obviously I was pretty peeved. I got online and found this site and went from peeved to excited when I saw some of the possibilities...I do have a quick question though, does anyone know any local places in Gainesville Florida that carry juice. I hadn't read about strengths and ordered 32mg and am thinking about finding something to cut it with..any help is appreciated. ..

lived in jax form 2004 or 3 till 2007.
love fl.
welcome

no idea about juice vendors in FL but if you want to know of places that sell good stuff the board is full of reviews and discussions where to get things.

from personal experance
DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store <-- awesome to buy from and their products would make scooby stop munching on scooby snacks.
for nic i went with totally wicked. tad pricey though.

both places sent me out my products asap and got them quick.
diyflavorshack has sort of a lack luster site design. don't let that fool you. also they give samples when you order stuff.. at least they did for me and friends. last time i got a strip of blue foam and a 3ml of strawberry-colada that was the best thing i vaped that i hadn't made myself.

If you need to cut what you have ordered:

You can get vegetable glycerin locally, it increases the vapor, but it will also reduce the flavor (not necessarily a bad thing). You can add flavorings like Lorans, but my first attempts tasted awful... Check out the DIY e-liquid section: after you make a few more posts here you can post (ask questions) in the other sections.

You can buy zero or low nic juice of the same flavor, or a complimentary flavor. Check out the "doublers" at tastyvapor.com, that's what they are for.

Hey wow thanks for the fast replies. I've been reading the DIY on mixing this morning definitely sounds like something I'll be doing. Who knew vaping could be so fun! The variety too is amazing. I will be ordering a DIY kit but first I think I need to get some extra atomizers and a couple batteries. .. well I'm off to stalk the mailbox with what will hopefully be my last analogs for a while..
Oh and I have to say, I'm a member on several forums like civic forums and xda but nowhere have I seen a forum with such friendly people...I love it!

Welcome! You can get vg aka(glycerin) that Quasimod mentioned at a local cvs or walmart. It is in the hand cream section at cvs or near the calamine lotion in walmart.
Make sure the label says usp on it. It will make more vapor but reduce flavor as Quasi said , but It works great in a pinch to reduce nic level.
I would suggest you start with a 10% mix and go from there. I have heard people say not to mix more than 30% , some say 50%. I never go over 20% because it gives me a sore throat, I am a chain vaper .
There are several juice calculators already made that you can use. I think there is a list of them in the sticky section of the DIY sub forum.

Yay its here. More to come

OK, how many of the following 1st day mistakes did you make? :)

1. Tore open package, put ecig together, and tried to vape the empty "dummy cart" that came on the atty.

2. Didn't blow the shipping/primer fluid out of the atty before use.

3. Didn't drip a couple of drops of juice on atty bridge to prime it before attaching cart and vaping.

4. Dripped a ton of liquid into empty dummy cart, and tried to vape it.

5. Ordered a bunch of (insert name brand here) thinking it would taste like your regular brand of cigarette, but it just tastes weird. Should have bought the candy flavor/coffee flavor.

Come on everyone, help me out with some more. :D

I did all of those things...
I have found juice to be the single most important thing to consider, then style if delivery. As the Ford v. Chevy battle of Cartridges v. cartomizers rage on.
The biggest mistake I made was buying a BUNCH of juice that was called what I used to smoke. It was terrible. I still don't like candy or coffee flavored juice, but I ave found some others I can not live without anymore.

The waiting game for orders is the worst, but all I can get locally is NASTY juice, and substandard devices. (besides Totally Wicked store an hour away in Bradenton)

I did 1 and 2 before putting it down and coming here to read I got a bottle of 36mg polar bear with my order thanks to the nice folks at nicotine nirvana. I also went and bought some vg and lorans grape bc the polar bear was a little too strong...I'm really digging this. I did crave an analog first thing this morning though. Boo.

I smoked and vaped for over 2 months before I quit. I just gradually smoked less and vaped more until one day, I realized I hadn't smoked in a couple of weeks, and didn't want to. I'm not even sure what my "quit date" was, only that it was a day or two after Christmas '09.

Your atty will probably last a few weeks, maybe a couple of months with a regular 3.7 Volt stock battery. Keep your fingers crossed. :D
