Hey whats up everyone? I am glad to be part of such a knowledgeable community when it comes to vaping. I am an active member on "SMD Forums" and "Android.net" and plan on staying active around the community here. I have been a Newport 100 smoker for 9 years now. I picked up the habit before I was even out of elementary school (4th grade). I was up to almost a pack a day at one time and I have been slowing down for 4 months now. I was down to 4 cigs a day before I switched to an e-cig. The very first one I ever tried was a Logic Menthol Disposable. That just never cut it as it was way too harsh on the throat and didnt produce much of a vapor at all. I am now using a NeverLightAgain rechargeable with NLA E-Liquid. I have been vaping Blueberry and Peach as these were my first 2 E-Liquids. It produces a nice amount of vapor and has great flavor but the battery will only last me about 3 maybe 4 hours of heavy usage. So I have ordered a Mr-E-Go 510 with 5 replacement carto's and (Apple Ice, Lemon Ice, & Green Dragon e-liq's). I am excited to receive my new equipment in the mail hopefully Friday or Saturday. I will move up in the vape world once I really read up and learn what I should go with. Thinking lavatube or mini Provari with a tank.

Anyway I have been 4 days without a cig and honestly havent even had that bad of a craving. Appetite has picked up tremendously and I am not near as jittery/nervous as I use to be between smokes. My throat also has become less scratchy and the best part of all I am havent had a headache in 2 days now. I got bad migraines but not Aura bad though. just a great feeling to not have a headache from the menthol or going to long between smokes. I can only imagine how much better I will feel after maybe a month or so with no smokes. I always have a way to charge my e-cig either in the car, desk, or house. I also leave a bottle of peach in my Tahoe but I keep my bottle of blueberry with or around me all the time. I find the smell of analog cigs repulsive and I am so glad I dont have the smell in my car or on my clothes anymore. 3 Family member have passed due to COPD, Lung Cancer, Throat Cancer, or a combo of the 3. So I figured it was time to take the better path and put down the analogs and pick up the vape. I am learning slowly but catching on for sure.

Thanks for having me and I am looking forward to meeting the community.
-James

I just use my Apple charge to keep it charged in the car, house, or desk:

Welcome my fellow North Carolinian. You are making good decisions. The only constant with vaping is few things ever remain the same. You find new mouse traps that are better than your old mouse traps and you find smoke juices that are better than your old smoke juices. The only advice I will give you at this time is don't be afraid to explore but don't move too quickly either...especially with gear. Get to know the gear you have well before moving onto something else. They all have their own quirks you need to solve and if you are constantly changing gear that means you are constantly trying to figure out quirks and it takes away from the vaping experience. As a fellow Tar Heel, I wish you the best of luck.

I appreciate the warm welcome and really glad to see another NC member. I have been to Wake Forest 6 times in the past 2 weeks haha. Small world man. Thanks for the advice. The only thing Ill move on to from the 510 will be a provari or lavatube. I am however looking to get a nice cartotank for the kit I will be receiving this week. Any preferred cartotanks? Also do you know of any good vape shops here in Eastern NC? I have heard there is one in Clayton, NC but just not sure where any good shops are around here. Thanks again man.

James, I got myself a Lavatube a week ago and it is working out great. I'll slip a video link at the end of this post that would be very useful to you if you're interested in a Lavatube. I have never used a carto tank. Probably wont go in that direction. I've used a wide variety of juice delivery systems and have basically settled on two different ones. Vivi Novas and Phoenix Bottom Coils. Don't know of any Eastern NC shops. I think they're an upstart juice company up in Henderson. That's about it. Fortunately there are many excellent online shops. If you need some guidance on gear and good juices, I would be happy to help you out. But I wont push anything on you. It will be your decision because you're the one who has to live with it. I will tell you this though. The folks are helpful on ECF but sometimes you get information overload and some have very strong opinions about their gear or their juice and they can get a bit pushy about it at times. But overall, it's a great source. Here's that link...

@Bub: Thanks for the welcome man and I am hoping the larger size and longer batt life will be my first major step into vaping.

@Bronze: I appreciate the info. How do the ViVi Nova's perform? I was just checking those out and the price is not bad at all. If I find any good vape shops here in Eastern NC I will sure post it up and let you and other NC members know. I also will be ordering a pretty decent sized order of liquids so I can let them sit and steep a little while. I am expecting an overload on this as I did on Mobile Audio when I first started my journey in that. I am still wowed by the info here in the community and I still have quite a bit of reading to do. I will be checking out the video in just a few also.

@Lbox: All I can say is thanks man. I doubt I would have ever gotten this far without your help. Answered many of my nooby questions and got me started here in the vape world. I'm expecting an info rape though and it really has already begun as I have put about 5-6hrs into reading and I am still learning things. I dont know how you founf those shops in Wilson, NC and Nashville, NC but I will check out the shops in Wilson maybe tomorrow cause I will be over there for my Uncles birthday but if I run out of time tomorrow I will make a trip to Wilson since it is only about 20-25mins away. The Shop in Nashville, NC is only about a 10min drive so I will check that store out this weekend and I will post back up with a review or maybe a few ninja pics of the shop and their supplies. Amazing thing is I grew up in Wilson and didnt even know they had vape supplies. I also go to Nashville a couple times a month and pass that shop each time and never knew they were vape suppliers either.

The Vivi's are very good. Both the standard and mini. They can be taken apart completely for easy cleaning and the heads are easy to rebuild. Good, faithful performers. Lots of vapers use them so there is never a shortage of info to find if you need it. Be sure they are Genuine Vivi Nova. Lots of knock offs out there.

@kick: Hey man good to see you around. I also like how vaping has such a fan base and knowledge base. The part where we get to quit analog's is the best part I think. Its great to find an alternative. Also the boat is not mine I could only wish. It is Darrel's boat he is a good family friend that own a marina down in Atlantic Beach, NC. They were on the way out to fish @ 5:45am during the Big Rock Tournament and I snagged the pic from another boat. The Big Rock is big deal here in NC and has been going on over 50 years. My home town is Wilson, NC but growing up me and the Fam would head to the beach cottage every weekend so I kinda grew up around the water too. Have had many cherished memories down at Atlantic Beach.

@Bronze: If I do go the vivi route I will sure hit you and find a place that has legit vivi's. I like the fact they can be taken apart to be cleaned though. Thats a major plus in my book.

Welcome to the forums! I too used to be a Newport menthol smoker before i switched to 27's. I experienced migraines all the time. Besides the 4,000 toxins in cigarettes i believe the menthol's are even worse. I am now over 30 days analog free due to vaping and feeling great. I have absolutely enjoyed reading your story and being able to relate to it. I would like to recommend that you get a back up device soon. That way you can charge one while using the other and are less likely to pic up a cigarette. Once again welcome to the forums.

@Frank: The warm welcome is appreciated and congrats on being 30 days analog free. Newports are a true meaning of a cancer stick haha but I hope your migraines have started to make a disappearance in your life. They are painful for sure and having them during the day while it is light out side is the worst. I try and find a dark place and lay down to just wait it out. Its good to have something to relate to and glad you posted up. I got the little cig-look-a-like now and I got a 510 kit coming in the mail this week. once I get use to the 510 I will more than likely get a mini provari or lavatube and then have the 510 as a back up. Hope the vaping experience is going good for you man

O yea quite happy with the latest arrival man. I can wait to try some of the juices I got (apple ice, lemon ice, green dragon, and a sample of blue dragon). I filled up a carto with the NLA blueberry and compared to the cig-a-like before I am getting much more vapor. The flavor comes out a little more clear in this one. The carto I am using currently is a SmokTech 2ohm stainless steel. @lbox88 recommended I get the stainless smoktech's and I am glad I did. The very first carto I filled it with 15 drops of peach and let it sit for 5mins then tasted it and it tasted really burnt. I think I burnt the fluffy stuff in the carto cause I dint use enough liquid. When I filled the stainless carto I used about 25 drops until the fluffy stuff looked like a slushy. That really worked well I have been a very happy camper since haha,

Anyway I got the sample of Blue Dragon in the shipment and I am thinking about trying that out. It was made on 10/10/12 so its had a couple days. I will try it likely let it do some steeping. I will also post up how it tastes. When I am at the house I use the drip tip instead of the rubber piece and I like the way the drip tip fits on my lips. Makes for an easier drag. Would you suggest dripping with these carto's? If not what would be a good dripping system for this e-go?
