This could be a number of things really.

Have you tried wiggling the center post of your battery up? By this I mean take a very small object gently pry the center post(pin) up on your battery back and forth.
Did you recently rebuild the coil on the vivi nova?
Was the ecig even charging?
Does the button light up when fired?

Try these things and I'm sure someone can help you?

Hi xeph27! Let's see ... You said that the button on the charger turned green. I'm assuming that the light on the battery switch is functioning as well, correct?! If so then the problem is the tank and insofar: I'm actually unaware of the Vivi Nova tanks being shipped pre-filled. Normally the Vivi Novas are shipped empty. If your tank is not see-through (has a metal sleeve) and you are relying on what many manufacturer's state on their sites "... comes preloaded ..." - the word preloaded refers to the head inside the tank (not any e-liquid inside of it).
Double-check to make sure there's indeed e-liquid in it.
Best of luck ... almost forgot: Welcome to ecf!

And the vivi nova was shipped empty. I poured the e-liquid in myself.

there was already e-liquid in it.

Kinda conflicting information for us good folks here to work with but I'm sure you will get sorted.

I assume that the button on the battery lights up when you press it?
Also have you screwed the battery on properly, as in all the way?
Did you buy it as a kit or separately?
Did you take the silicone cover off the drip tip?

Sorry if I sound condescending but I had no idea how to fill my cartos when I first got my first kit.

Hope you sort it soon.
