Hi! I'm new to the forum and rather new to vaping in general. I've smoked on and off for 23 years now, and I am at the point were I have lost my "want" of cigarettes. Unfortunately my habit and addiction tend to over ride my wanting to quit.

I tried vaping a year or so ago and did not have the best experience with it. I would experience asthma like symptoms (tight chest, slight wheezing, etc) after one or two uses. I tried different levels of nicotine, PG and VG all with the same results. Unfortunately cigarettes ended up winning that battle.

A co-worker suggested vaping like I am smoking a cigar rather than a cigarette and see how it goes. So, here I am. I have a Halo Triton in the mail, and hopefully it will help me kick this habit once and for all!

to ecf zyglow. So glad to have you here. Just a wonderful place to be, as far as I am concerned. Lots of Texans love vaping. It is awesome. So glad you gave vaping another try. I bet this time will be totally different. Look forward to reading more about you and your successful vaping. Have fun.

Howdy zyglow!

The chest tightness might be a result of your body starting to rid itself of the "ick" from smoking. Make sure to drink lots of water - that will help keep you hydrated and hopefully lessen the tightness (and help you get rid of all the crap in your lungs.)

You've played the PG/VG game, so hopefully it's not an allergy, but more of a "cleansing".

Good luck! I've heard lots of folks who've been successful with the Triton setup....

I also got the same reaction when I first started vaping (4 years now). I do sort of a half and half. (cig inhale and cigar mouth) also do the French (drift out the mouth draw in the nose) all the time. The capillary's are closer to the surface in you nose and absorb the nic quicker. Of course VG only based e-liquid is smoother for this.
It took me over a month for my lungs to clear out the junk. I got a lot of relief taking decongestants with Guaifenesin.

Another welcome from Big D. And +1 on what Treborsmug said except I prefer to draw into the throat and then exhale through the nose. VG and no deep lung inhales work well for me.
